Terrific design and terrific taste in finish materials by the owners. I realize there are 1,000 variables but how about giving us a ball park number of what it costs to build that model 9minus land costs) with most of the finished being similar in price to what's in this one

Love the walk-in showers but when building your forever homes they need to think about a bench and safety grab bars in the showers. Safety bars are also good for younger people walking into the shower. Personally I also need the hand shower faucet in the shower. You never know when your life can suddenly change and those things are needed.

I love your builds. Absolute dream homes. May I offer a suggestion or two? You pulled out the garbage can bin in kitchen. I have custom cabinets. That bin is missing two things. One, a wood frame that would sit inside and partially surround the cans. Imagine a letter U as one piece with an upside down letter U. More importantly, a sliding drawer that holds the garbage bags that sits right above the cans. Also, as I’ve seen and have, it’s a much cleaner look to place AC wall outlets in the bottom trim rather than a foot or so up on the wall. Much neater in appearance. Finally, a question. I know in Florida it’s very rare to find homes with basements for obvious reasons. Is that the same in Texas? If not, why no basement? TYVM and keep up the great work.
@MeemsKaso Жыл бұрын
It’s very hard to find homes here in Texas with basements. Most do not have storm shelters. It’s bizarre. I’m told no basements because we have clay soil. My husband is building a gate & putting in fence posts at front of property. After 12” down, he’s finding clay. We recently purchased 5 acres in NE TX. Right now we live in a tiny home on the property. Not ideal for our area & the constant thunderstorms & possible tornadoes. We want to bring the land to life first; garden, greenhouse, henhouse, divide 1 pasture into 2 for a couple head of cattle, & a pole barn. Right now we’re having an aerobic septic system put in & the very next thing is an underground storm shelter!! We think that is our biggest & most important investment. The tornado sirens were always going off at our rental house & off to the MB closet we would go. That is not an option for where I’m at now. When we signed the contract for the rental, we were instructed to water the foundation weekly…? Never heard of that before. We’ll build our house in the next year or 2.
@mdjak3686 Жыл бұрын
@@MeemsKaso Not sure if you know the answer, but does clay soil mean you can't dig down with heavy equipment, pour footings and walls and make a basement? Is it just too wet?

@mdjak3686 it doesn't settle properly. We have terrible foundation problems in Texas because of the settling of the ground.

We are looking for a plan with two large bedroom suites and an attached shop large enough for us to pull our 32 foot camper and super size 250 Ram and leave it attached to the camper. We also have a 150 Ford that would be in there. I love the Sadler floor plan but I would like for the middle section to be 2-3 feet wider.

Black roof in TX, are you serious ??!! You're adding to the difficulty of cooling this building in the summer. Our heat (I live here !) can be outrageous ! The roof should have been as white as the walls. You could still use black trim on the verticals if you want, but using it for the roof panels is a big mistake.

I already have land paid for in Aubrey, TX. But I have restrictions on my property. It says no manufacturer homes. And it has to be 50% brick or stone or masonry. So I assume this company can still build me a home here with a shop. If they put 50% or more stone around the house. So how do I get started with my own custom design with this company? And all the planning? Just call your office for appointment?
@kathrynquinn3606 Жыл бұрын
These are NOT manufactured homes - custom turnkey - they can do stone wherever you want - you might also be able to get a variance from all that stone work?
