Why do I have happy tears while watching this. This is what makes this country so amazing. We are a country built on the passion of “hard working” immigrants. Love it.

My grandparents would take me to eat at the Christie’s in San Antonio when I was a child. When we moved to Houston in 1979 Christie’s was a favorite for my mom and dad . April 21st my dad will have been gone for 2 years . My dad and I always talked about going to eat at Christie’s before he passed , unfortunately he wasn’t able to make it there but I brought Christie’s to him. I called early in the week and made arrangements to pick up his meal early Saturday because it was an hour plus drive to his house. I arrived with insulated bags and the staff packed up the meal with great care . When I showed up to my dads house and told him I brought him a special lunch and he realized it was Christie’s his smile is one of the fondest memories I have of him I’m my 58 years of life . The shrimp, oysters, and fish was outstanding. My dad ate on all the food for two days! He went for a bite of the carrot cake I ordered with the meal and for someone that was full he ate almost all of the cake in one sitting . Thank you Christie’s and staff you made a memory that will live with me the rest of my life and I am grateful.

Great story! I also was taken to Christie's in SA by my grand parents and Mom and Dad in the 60s and early 70's as a youngster. LOVED the fried shrimp, baked potato and wedge salad with their FAMOUS 1000 island dressing! In the 80s I would stop there and buy jars of the salad dressing and remoulade sauce to take back to Ft Worth. When they closed and sold the property to Whataburger I was not happy. Too bad the one in Houston doesnt have he same salad dressings.

I am 84 years old and when I was a five-year-old kid after the war we go to Christie's every Friday night for the fried trout sandwich. That was a best fish sandwich I ever ate in my life. We continue that Friday night have it for about 10 years . I think it was $0.50 for the trout sandwich fond memories. Billturk1 here

Been a dining tradition in our family since before I was born in 1967! I remember "Mr. Christie" coming around to our table and talking to us whenever we'd eat there. Best fried shrimp anywhere!

I miss the days when people came to America to build a better life & be grateful that America is what she is...OPPORTUNITY! Not a free handout which the democrats have created. I love how her father understood being a man & making a BETTER life, then celebrating every year, the day he came to America. We can all only hope that the invasion of illegals will also embrace what America is and stands for so they can prosper & not only be takers. America doesn't have much more to give. Great story! Great respect 🙏

This story clarifies for me how wrong Texas Governor Abbott and Florida Governor DeSantis are in mistreating current immigrants. Christies legacy.

We are being invaded by people from countries that want to kill us. Wake up! This is an invasion. I pray the illegals will prosper & thrive through hard work. The Christie's legacy.

There is absolutely nothing in this story that relates to your statement. Her father came to the U.S. legally and worked hard to support himself did not expect the citizens to support him. He also had a legitimate amnesty situation due to a civil war.
