It all stems from being in your mothers womb,Its white noise,apparently this is why it`s so comforting,my mom use to hoover round my cot when i was a baby ,she says it used to send me to sleep,it still makes me sleepy when i hear a hoover or even a hair dryer,strange but true!

I can't sleep without a fan going.I even sleep with a fan on during the winter.I just throw the blankets over me and fall asleep to the soothing sound of my fan while naked under the covers

I'm the same way. I use a fan during the spring/summer and a tower heater for fall/winter. The white noise is just so comforting and unchanging.

I like this one myself. I go for a nap in the day time and use this one and I do go to sleep before it ends every time. I like it because you have the fan moving it does make a difference. To me it does anyway.

This sounds like the fan I used to sleep with before the motor burned out and I had to downgrade to a quiet box fan. I used to live in a very bad neighborhood and my mom made us kids sleep with fans in our rooms to block out the noise of the police sirens and gunshots, so basically my entire life I've been sleeping with a fan and I literally cannot sleep without one.
