A monthly video series where I let 5 fans come out with their equipment and attempt to shoot a 10" gong at 1,000 yards in under 10 shots. If they hit it, they can use their remaining shots on the 5" gong. The 10" gong is worth 10 points and goes down 1 point after every shot. The 5" gong is worth 20 points and goes down 2 points after every shot. Once both are hit, the challenge is complete and each unfired round is an additional point. New episodes go live on the 1st Monday of every month!

I want to thank you all for the positive feedback. In my mind however the hands down winner of the day was Alex. He competes in PRS tactical division 308 and I was shooting a rifle they wouldn't even allow on their course. Mine is 350 fps faster and shooting a heavier much higher BC bullet. Translated that means his rifle has probably 50% more drop at 1K than mine so he had more difficult ballistics to work with. His combination of bullet and proper barrel length allow his 308 to remain supersonic at this distance which is all important. Spotted his first shot miss, adjusted and hit. 4 rounds later hit the 5”. He did everything right and did it extremely well. Congratulations Alex and if you ever decide to proceed with chambering and threading your own barrels I would be more than happy to help out.

You've done it again Brandon, Texas Plinking is just a plain pleasure to go to as well as watch. You, your family and your program attract good, like minded people. I have yet to meet a stranger while I'm there. This last bunch was certainly no exception, they were all the kind of people you would want at your house for beer and bbq. Great folks and all excellent shooters. If Rachel hadn't had bad luck spotting all her shots it would no doubt have been a clean sweep, hell she hit the 10” the very first shot she took off camera. People been trying to talk me into competing for years and I've just never been interested. The first time I saw Texas Plinking I thought now there's something that looks like fun. No money involved and you're really just shooting against yourself. Everyone cheers for everyone and it's simply pure fun. Ana, you are a spitfire and I hope to see y'all again if you'll have me back. I have another rifle nearly finished that will be much easier to shoot from the left ;). You only adjust if you're confident in your shot and wind, heat didn't play a factor. That's why most never touch the scope.

Great episode, I was really praying for the female with the gasser to hit the 1moa target, so close, but close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades, I was happy for the 4th shooter who hadn’t gone out past 450, welcome to the 1000 yd club, the 5th shooter who cold bored first shot hit was fantastic, I really thought he would hit the 1/2 MOA target in 2-3 rds, couple of them must’ve just missed by a hair from the look of it, anyways keep em coming, someday I’d love to be able to stretch out to a 1,000 😊

4th shooter here; yes @mobeus5019 is right, it is an ar-15 platform to run the 6 ARC cartridge. But I definitely have done exactly what you are talking about with the multiple uppers. I have the 6 ARC upper you see in the video for long range, a 5.56 upper set up to be light and maneuverable for close range/defense, and a .22lr upper for fun plinking and varmint, etc. I love how my lower/trigger/buffer feel on all, so I decided a while back to just swap uppers across it. Makes it to where you can fit 3-4 rifles in a 2 rifle bag as well when going to shoot. Happy shooting!

I can appreciate the fact that you are supporting a product you do not use. I wish more non-nicotine users would support all forms of harm reduction. With that said, I absolutely love the challenge you have put together here. I recall being pretty good at the M60 range, adjusting the sights for range was incredibly effective at getting first round impacts at impressively long ranges. I don't have anything that shoots that far with any accuracy these days, but the idea of attempting 1000yd shots is really appealing.

This was an excellent episode, although I haven't seen all of them yet. I find that every time someone performs well, I'm inspired to make a build like theirs. But then I realize that two wildly different cartridge & rifle combinations can both perform on the same level in the right hands, and then I go back to thinking that it doesn't really matter exactly what flavor you like - it's down to shooter skill and a fair dose of luck given that your platform is capable.

Shooter number 2 here. It's absolutely up to the shooter as long as you have a solid rig. Get a 6.5 creedmore and call it good. Easy to find ammo and lots of components if you want to start reloading. 6.5 is easily a 1100 yard cartridge with fantastic barrel life

I just got my Arken EPL-4 and honestly can’t believe the quality of the scopes for the price. I got it on my brand new muzzleloader and am gunna get the next size up for my .308. I just wish they had the hunter reticle for larger diameter optics. I showed my friend who is a total optic snob (only has +1500 nightforce) scopes and he’s blown away and might get one😂
