Man I want a kayak so bad, bank fishing is too full there’s too many damn people, in close proximity. I just can never seem to get to save up enough.
@RXAngler2 жыл бұрын
Go look for a used Hobie outback or compass.
@nozrep2 жыл бұрын
that is good, I want a kayak too, but cannot justify the expense because I need a new vehicle first, lol. That said, what you said is not totally true. There are lots and lots and lots of bank spots and beach spot and jetty spots that do not have too many people! Yes, the spots you go to are full because they are probably the already well known go-to spots for people. But I assure you, in a city as big as the Houston/Galveston area, there are plenty of many many “not-crowded” spots to go to. Hop on the google maps and scout down a few spots. It is fun to find new bank spots to try on the google maps. And quit going to the crowded spots you have been going to.

sharpen that hook. Bass fisherman Doug Hannon has a great video somewhere about how to get them razor sharp. Even when you think they're sharp, you can get them sharper.

I’m finally gonna settle on getting a yak. As bank fishing is getting blown out and wade fishing is near impossible with most places being off limits. Can’t afford a fancy kick pedal but at this point i just want to be on the water
@sloshyjoe2 жыл бұрын
Save your money and get a fancy pedal one you wont regret it. I bout a paddle kayak and I hated it, Isaved my money for a year and half and got a hobie never looking back.

You should just buy the best kayak there is for our Texas coast. Either the Outback or the compass. Cry once, then enjoy many years of catching fish on a kayak.

Had opposite experience. Had to call Hobie and their CEO to get my MOC after multiple delays & fake excuses, no basic customer service, went in multiple times for major purchases they had no idea of inventory, I had to show them the stuff I wanted was in their line of sight! Of course FTU not better, every time go in there the old dude acts like I'm gonna steal. No wonder I know guys who go to Dallas for kayak needs!

@@trinacria1956 I do agre ftu can improve on things, but you should try talking to "the old guy." One of the most knowledgeable, friendly, and talkative people. He was probably looking at you to see if you were going to say something so he could have a conversation.
