Hello, and welcome to my first Full Ride on the new TEXRail! Today, we're traveling from Fort Worth T&P Station to DFW Airport Terminal B Station, with a side window view. Plenty of fun sights along the way, including the TEXRail Maintenance Facility and Yard, as well as a brand new Stadler DMU ready for TEXRail service, still on it's flatbed rail car. We also pass by some neat Grapevine Vintage Railroad equipment. Enjoy the views!
In a future video, we'll take a full ride with a more interior point of view, as well as some video in the engine corridor. Stay tuned!
Filmed with Sony HDR CX-440 and Zoom H1 on 1/11/2019

Came in from London, UK, to visit family in Grapevine, for Christmas. Last Thursday rode the train first to DFW and then jumped on the train going back to Fort Worth (where we had lunch at the Flying Saucer). Impressive ride and well worth $5. I visited the Intermodal Transportation Center (ITC) station before TEXRail started service. TEXRail is using the left track in conflict with the approaching TRE train because that's the only platform at that station that is compatible with the new train. Also, only a portion of the platform was raised. I noticed how worn-out the TRE gallery cars are. When they are replaced it would be nice if they used the higher platform configuration for the same level-boarding experience.

Maybe in the future the land use near these stations will be rezone for commercial, office and retail along with higher density residential housing such as apartments and condos. That being done now along parts of routes of the DART light rail system and especially around train stations which steadily increased ridership on DART. The surrounding Fort Worth area is not as urban as Dallas, but it's getting there as more people move to the DFW Metroplex.

Great quality video. Thanks! Even though this is the first week of service, it's surprising that there are hardly any passengers on this train, and that even despite free fares until the end of January. I'd like to know if they will make anything close to a profit after being in operation a few months. I hope the European railfans watching this video realize that those of us in Texas and most of the US outside of the northeast love the independence our cars give us. A lot of us love trains, but their practicality in getting people from one location to another is limited. Everything here is spread out. Gasoline (petrol) is cheap here compared to Europe and is likely more cost-effective than spending billions of US dollars on getting right-of-ways for train tracks, new equipment, building stations, etc. Nevertheless, I hope TexRail does well.

They should try working on several things before constructing commuter train lines in the future, these things are: *Build individual tracks that are reserved for TEXrail only. This will reduce the overall congestion and conflicts with the other train companies which may reduce travel time and delays. *Planning a network of tracks with the least amount of crossings as possible, since rail crossings tends to decrease the overall speed limit in the rail network. *Adjust the P.A system throughout the network by summing up the information. Too much unnecessary information is given upon arriving to a specific station. It must be short and informative. *Making sure that every station has a direct connection to bus stops and parking lots.

I agree. Poor execution. I'm happy anyways we're making some kind of progress. I'd like to tack on there electrifying it. Just like dedicated rail, the upfront investment stings, but it deeply roots the system so that it's cheaper to run later on, and easier to justify improving and maintaining it.
