Texts Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen Recommends For Those Who Wish To Start Seeking Knowledge (To Memorise)

The following is a list of texts (mutoon) many students of knowledge choose to memorise. This is not to say that the seeker of knowledge is required to follow this list exactly, as this varies depending on the situation of each student. Aqeedah: Thalaathatul Usool Al Qawa'id Al Arba' Nawaaqidh ul islam Kitaab ut tawheed Kashf ush shubuhaat (you don't neccessarily need to memorise this but you should study it and read over the explanations a lot, as this is considered the most difficult of Sheikh Muhammad Bin Abdil Wahhab's texts) Al Aqeedah Al Waasitiyyah Al Aqeedah At Tahaawiyyah Arabic grammar Al Ajrumiyyah Study (but don't memorise) qatr un nada wa ball us sada Alfiyyah Ibn Maalik Usool ul fiqh: Study (But don't memorise) Al usool min ilm Al usool (this is a text written by Ibn Uthaymeen, he also has an explanation of the text himself) Memorise Al Waraqaat Principles of tafseer Al Muqaddimah fee at tafsir by Ibn Taymiyyah- this was explained by Ibn Uthaymeen and others) Sheikh Ibn Uthaymeen has a useful treatise on this subject, which he himself went on to explain- Usool fi at tafseer Mustalah Al Hadith: Al mandhoomah Al Bayqooniyyah Nukhbat ul fikr Some students also choose to memorise Alfiyyatul iraqiy Hadith: -Al Arab'oon An Nawawiyyah - a collection of 42 important ahadith - these should be memorised alongside the ziyaadat (additions) of Ibn Rajab - 8 extra ahadith Al Haafidh Ibn Rajab added to these 42 hadiths, making it a total of 50 ahadith. Al Haafidh Ibn Rajab then explained these 50 ahadith in his famous book - Jaami' ul 'Uloomi wal Hikam -Umdatul Ahkam and/ or Buloogh al Maraam (as mentioned in the video) - ahadith arranged according to the chapters of fiqh. These two books have many explanation. - Although some students decide to then move onto Muntaqa Al Akhbaar of Majd Ud Deen Ibn Taymiyyah (the grandfather of Ibn Taymiyya), it is best to move on to Al Kutub As Sittah (the six books of hadith) Fiqh: Shuroot as salat wa arkaanuha wa waajibaatuha by Sheikh Muhammad Bin Abdul Wahhab (this is short, concise, and also includes the evidence, so it's useful to memorise before you delve into the texts of fiqh) You should memorise one text in fiqh, depending on your maddhab. If you are studying the Hanbali madhhab, then there are many to choose from, but perhaps the best 3 are the following: (you should select the one that you believe suits your condition and situation the most): 1- Akhsar ul mukhtasaraat (this literally means: "the shortest of concise texts", as it is believed to be the shortest text ever written in the hanbali madhhab)- although it is short and concise, it contains a lot of what you need to know, and will, by the permission of Allah, give you a solid foundation in every chapter of fiqh (Sheikh Saleh Al Fawzan has an explanation of this text- although it should be noted that it doesn't have as many explanations as the two I am about to mention, and isn't as well-served). This text is good for those who don't have much time to memorise, or those who don't have a strong memory. 2- Daleel Ut Talib- this text in the hanbali madhhab is arranged very well, making it easier to visualise the concepts) 3- Zaad Ul Mustaqni'- this is one of the best, or perhaps the best, text in the hanbali madhhab. It fits in more information than the previous two, but is still very concise. This text is preferred by many (this is the text sheikh ibn Uthaymeen memorised), as it is the most comprehensive and yet concise, and has many more explanations than the previous two I mentioned, making it a lot easier for the student to understand the text and expand his knowledge. Al Faraa'idh (inheritance laws): This is covered in the texts of fiqh, but some students decide to memorise Ar Rahbiyyah in addition to this. I know a place online I can read Ibn Kathir and Saadi in english how about Muyassar, and Baghawi? Also i think Ibn Kathir uses some weak hadith in his tafsir correct?

It’s my dream to save some money and go to Egypt or Morocco to learn Quran with correct Pronunciation and tajwid and study fiqh . I always ask Allah in my prayers.

Al Hamawiyyah is a lot more advanced, so Al Wasitiyyah is recommended.

That is true, and the Sheikh recommended students of knowledge to memorise al arba'een An Nawawiyyah in another clip, and then you move onto umdatul ahkaam and/or buloogh al maraam

@Fawaz Shaikh Riyadh As Saliheen is more Tazikyah and seperate to the list (one should study seperatley).After Bulugh Al Maram do maybe Lulu Wal Marjaan then Al Muwatta then Al Kutub As Sitta starting with Bukahri then Muslim then the rest.After the Musnad and the rest of the books of Hadith.Mashallah this may take 10,20,30,40 years to do so subhanallah!
