Texture Art Flowers, Palette Knife, Modelling Paste Painting, abstract acrylic fluid art

I made the pouring medium 2parts pva glue to 1part water by weight, and then mixed 5part pouring medium to 4part paint by weight. I added extra water to some to thin them down so the consistency of all paints was the same.

Personally I would use a spray varnish over the whole thing. It’s really pretty. Like an archival varnish with UV protection. I’ve done textured paintings with caulk that’s basically the same consistency as modeling paste. And I just used a clear spray varnish I ordered off of Amazon. I did several layers and it worked just fine.

It came out quiet lively. If you want to varnish, I suggest a spray varnish. Would be much easier to apply and you could use a matt or gloss varnish.

I love this technique. If you use a varnish like Liquitex from a bottle. I would use a very soft sponge/ cloth and dab it on gently making sure you get to all the flowers if you don't want the varnish on the background. The modeling paste can crack occasionally. Less is more on those beautiful petals. I think a non-yellowing spray varnish would be the best. (I would consider resin, but then I LOVE shiny paintings and I adore textured ones.)

I use the Krylon UV Resistant spray varnish (matte) sometimes. It comes in gloss too which is what I use the most and am not sure is UV resistant. (I have to say liquitex is my all -time favorite, for acrylics)

Thank you, it really lightens the colour, so I add more paint but the softens it so it’s a balance x
