Great tutorial! Trying to do something similar with TD -> UE which is to generate and manage my Kinect Azure point clouds in TD and pass my PC texture to Niagara for particle spawn positions. I understood what you did sampling the texture for 2D color, but what if I wanted to use that texture for position sampling instead? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Many thanks.

Thanks! This definitely sounds possible, I would look for some more advanced Niagara tutorials, especially any that deal with generating the particles from point clouds. Once you've got the connection from TD -> UE set up, you should be able to use the texture to control the appropriate parameter

Please do you know if this is possible with shapes that aren't grids? I am importing static points from Houdini and using them as particles, I wish to 'project' a texture from above to 'pixel map' these points. Thanks a lot!!!!

Am I able to control the Niagara particles from unreal in Touchdesigner? how to do it?
@TheInteractiveImmersiveHQ Жыл бұрын
Definitely! You can send OSC control signals from TouchDesigner to Unreal to control a Niagara particle system. See our videos _Unreal Engine + Kinect for Immersive Experiences_ (kzbin.info/www/bejne/m5C7kJiejtWoos0) and _Controlling Virtual Lights in Unreal Engine via OSC from TouchDesigner_ (kzbin.info/www/bejne/hoKkloihmN6ejNE) for more info

You can find it by searching for "Spout" in the Marketplace and their "Livestreaming, zero-latency, DX12-compatible bidirectional cameras for SPOUT/OBS" plugin should be the first result
