I think you should have found a way to show the final print. We felt cheated to go all the way through and not see the result.

Here is how it printed. drive.google.com/file/d/1IOVBk2bVzs5ROftkhoFANNkrmYVnisJs/view I made this video for my online printmaking students in the pandemic. The video is a little unfinished.

What is the difference between Collagraph Print and mono prints
@hannahskoonberg Жыл бұрын
A collagraph is generally a matrix that is made out of cardboard and found material. While a mono print is more like a painting that is then printed through the press. The mono print is a one off while a collagraph can be editioned.

Hi, did you make a video to show how this plate printed? I so enjoyed watching the process and would like to see the end result. Carol UK

Can you tell me what ink/paint you used for printing?
@hannahskoonberg2 жыл бұрын
For this I used oil based printmaking ink. I don't remember exactly what I used in this video since it was print at home pandemic times. But my favorite black in is Portland Cool Black by Gamblin. I find etching inks print relief just fine and then I can use one ink for more printmaking processes. Clean by scraping as much as you can onto old newspaper wiping down with some veg oil and follow up with a household degreaser. Or if you ventilation is good a little gamsol will clean it up faster.

Where can I see the print from this plate, please? I was hoping to see it at the end of the video but... not.

Here is how it printed. It ended up printing much better relief than intaglio. Here is a link to the photo! drive.google.com/file/d/1IOVBk2bVzs5ROftkhoFANNkrmYVnisJs/view?usp=sharing

This was an interesting diy home version of collography, thank you! (I think you rushed those stripes. The angle was wrong if depicting a horizontal surface from that angle. I see mistakes like this alot on YT and guessing the videocamera tends to rush decisions.) Nevertheless good job with simple materials and techniques! 🙏❤️

I agree, I feel like I was more interested in showing my students the technique with a range of materials and making it feel less intimidating. The design... well it was full lockdown pandemic at the time so I wasn't exactly in the ideal frame of mind lol.
@Squiffy13132 жыл бұрын
Why did you not show the actual print? That would have been most useful to understanding the techniques on the plate.

I posted the final image in the description. I accidentally cut the video short T_T still learning how to make videos.
