*Whoa! Scream Fortress 2019 is out!* If you want to know what to unbox from the new event, check out this quick guide I wrote! It uses findings from this video, as well as what we know about this year's update to make predictions about the best crates to unbox if you want to pull something awesome from this year's Halloween event. Link to guide: docs.google.com/document/d/1-xwAnzZNj9yEvtYoU6kpUyxqahpxSrBi7uoobaT4GQI/edit?usp=sharing *Original Pinned Comment:* On some level, I can’t believe this video is finally on KZbin. Believe it or not, this video has been in the works (on and off) for almost six months, and due to the stupid amount of work I had to put in to not only record this video, but program the unboxing simulator itself, there have been many times where I was close to giving up and scraping the video all together. That being said, against all odds, this video has ended up on KZbin. And as a result, I really hope you guys enjoy this video. This video has some incredibly fascinating results that I’ve been dying to share with you guys, and I hope you guys appreciate the awesomeness of these findings as much as I do. Because there is a lot about the simulator I didn’t have time to talk about in the video (e.g. behind the scenes stuff), I've complied a FAQ document that answers some of the most common questions I've received on this video, as well as gets into a full breakdown of how I simulated each crate type of crate. The document has some length to it, but there is a ton of very interesting information in here, so trust me when I say it will be worth your time to read! Here is the link to the FAQ (be careful for spoilers if you haven't watched the full video yet!): docs.google.com/document/d/1ZcT5TOYkxU8rzYpzjkhmz3nv8xrWYR5jCyzWx4uAHDk/edit?usp=sharing Finally, before I go, I want to give a quick thanks to those who helped me with the video: *Backpack.tf* - For having a great API I could use to collect the prices of almost every item in TF2. *The TF2 Wiki* - For providing me with data on crates, unboxable items, and some unbox percentages. I referenced this site more times than any other while creating this video, and the help it gave me was invaluable. Without it, I'm not sure this video could exist. *Python Library Authors* - Analyzing data in Python is an absolute joy, and I can’t think of another language I would rather use thanks to these amazing tools. *Archimo* - For walking me through some of the complexities of unboxing from the perspective of a seasoned unboxer. Most of my numbers from bonus drops would be completely inaccurate without his help. *ZEG* - For once again providing me with a great thumbnail, as well as a sweet animation as well. *Stevia Sphere & Punch Deck* - For creating some great music and putting it under a Creative Commons licence. *Anyone I know in real life* - For putting up with my desire to continuously torture myself while working on this video. Thanks for watching!

Incredibly in-depth video. Just some constructive feedback: your upward inflections mid-sentence are almost always the exact same tone. It can be a little fatiguing for an audience to hear it repeated so frequently. That’s seriously the only thing I could find that could be improved. Again, well done and bravo on a tremendous effort. 👏👏👏

There's simpler solution really: Probobality of getting item times the value of crate gives the expected value of crate For example one cosmetic cost 100$ but have 2% to drop in crate, for simplicity we will say you either get it or not so on average you get 2$ per crate (2 drops in 100 crates). If key to crate cost more than 2$ then it's not worth gambling because on average you will lose money, but if key is worth less than 2$ then it's worth gambling because on average you will earn more. No need for any simulations and for multiple items you just add those to get average worth of crate i.e. 100x0.02 + 50x0.1 + 10x0.3 + 1x0.58 = 10.58 For items worth 100$ with 2% drop rate, 50$ and 10% drop rate, 10$ and 30% drop and 1$ and 58% drop on average you will earn 10.58$ per crate so if key cost 9$ then it's worth it

It fits perfect with my High Roller's Rocket Launcher I got last year, and I managed to find two other cosmetics that fit great with it too, The Soldier's Stash and The Cuban Bristle Crisis. This set really make Soldier look like a grizzled veteran who's been around for a long time and likes to fight even when the odds are stacked against him. @@TheVirtualEconomistOne method has I've been using to avoid copyright strikes is to look at the descriptions of the videos. If you go into the description of any youtube video (preferably the video with just the song) and it is copyright striked, then at the bottom of the description box you will see *Music in this video* in bold. That means it IS copystriked. plus you can also see who claimed it. I havent tested this method, but looking at my previous videos that have gotten copystriked, It appears to me that might be the case. I found that video game soundtracks are least likely to get striked. Super Mario 64, Minecraft, Jak and Daxter, Mortal Komat, and Mass Effect 2 are just some of the games I've researched. Plus If you use other games soundtracks, you could get the added bonus of having some of your viewers say "oh wow, I know that song!" (At least thats what I say when I watch someone elses content and see it.) And I would still give credit, you could write something like this down in your description. Koji Kondo - Super Mario 64 (Dire, Dire Rocks) I hope this helps and I would love to hear your methods on how you obtain music. Thx for the reply. :-)

please consider the following TVE: watch your back often, consider bumping up your sensitivity to around 180 per wrist turn as it seemed you had a low sens, it's preference sure but in tf2 you may need do a 180 quickly Heal EVERYONE, even medics, hurt players get priority, and then dish out the buffs. Play a little game: pretend all the health packs are yours and if a teammate grabs one you lose an imaginary point watch your back often.. arrow people from afar who need you or who are low hp and don't have crit heals strafe to avoid damage, don't stop moving, move unpredictably and stay behind cover, let your teammates go first, surf (crouch jump) incoming explosives if you can't avoid them watch your back often

The single greatest thing I unboxed is an eldritch opening well wrapped hat. This made me believe that unboxing around Halloween is very profitable.

Damn, what an insane unbox... Congrats!

I’m glad crate #50 wasn’t included, as those are ridiculously expensive and yield ridiculously sought after stuff.

There is already a multitude of TF2 unboxing simulators that are very accurate.

little did we knew about future economy crush and skyrocketing prices
@shouygui495510 ай бұрын
you havent seen skyrocketing until you have seen CS skins... the keyless multiclass crate are the reason why the og TF2 cases are $0.03 and not $60-100 like in CS.
@Hattoresu5 жыл бұрын
I got the bottle cap after paying for both the summer crate, which was around 50 cents at the time, and the key. 3 dollars for a hat worth 17 cents.
