*(About the invisible sentry)* I'd assume the games engine (like CS:GO's) doesn't load certain objects in if you can't see them and I guess there's a bug with sentry guns right now where if one is behind a wall, or maybe just that wall that you'd only be able to see by using a taunt by looking at it through 3rd person it still doesn't decide to load it in. Test to see if you'd be able to see it in 3rd person spectator mode, if you can its a problem with taunts, if you still can't its a problem with the 3rd person view mode in general. The sentry might have to be in the same spot and you might have to look at it around that same wall to properly test it and if you do the test around other walls and even on different maps and you can always see it then its probably just a bug with that one specific wall and how it decides not to load certain objects in that it thinks its blocking your view of despite that you should be able to see them in 3rd person.

the magical sentry is because of a technique to lessen lag while in a game, the game doesn't load certain objects that are out of sight, so thats why you cant see the sentry when you were taunting

At 15:14 you can see a friendly scout disappear as he runs around the corner. Either it's an intended feature that you can't look around corners with taunts, or it's some artefact of how the game decides what models to display. Oddly enough you can see some enemies inside the spawn, but the ones leaving it flickers in and out of existence.

the disappearing sentry is because of culling witch is where parts a level in a game loads and despawns depending on where the player is, this is done to help the performance of the game. if that's not it is, its something like in CS:GO i don't know the name of it but its where if the player is at a wall, the things behind it will despawn, you can see this by going in Hammer Word Editor and making a simple map, just simply create a box, somewhere in that box put a platform, inbetween the platform and the roof, place something called a skybox (search "ssky" if you cant find it), behind that place i wall with a different texture and your'e done, you might see that wall despawn behind the skybox.

Ok guys, you want me to solve the invisible "magic" sentry gun? Every map has a thing in it called area portals, these determine if you hear different soundscapes from inside a building or if you are outside. Any entities that are in different Area portals will appear invisible to each other, and these entities include Players, health and ammo, Any projectile, gibbed players and buildings, and any sentry guns and buildings in that area, so Muselk was just fooling around with how upward is programmed... :)

The sentry gun is not rendering because of the way visleafs and occlusion culling work in TF2. The game isn't expecting you to be able to see that area from your position so it isn't drawing models, as can be seen by the medic phasing in and out of existence.

I think it's the engine trying to reduce the rendering load by not loading into memory the actual polygons of the sentry gun if they are both far enough away and out of the character model's line of sight. The hitbox and all the mechanics and sounds are still there, but not the actual view model.

Here's a possible explanation for the disappearing sentry gun (and players). The game only renders items that you might possibly see. And there's "no possible way" for your character, standing there behind the wall, to see sentries and players standing on the other side of the wall on top of a platform. The algorithm calculating what you can and can't see doesn't account for third person view

The disappearing sentry thing is obvious if you see what's happening to the rest of the players there. It's an attempt at player-sight occlusion so you can't use a taunt or third person mode to look around a corner and get information you wouldn't be able to obtain without seeing it in first person mode.

Honestly the disappearing sentry looks like it's being culled to reduce GPU usage, and is only updating it's visibility based on your location, not your 3rd person taunt-cam. If you notice, players themselves were disappearing as they walked behind the wall. It could actually be intentional to prevent using taunts to see around corners.
