Today we went to search for old coins and artifacts with a metal detector in two abandoned single-yard farmsteads in the forest. These places were once inhabited, but time has taken its toll - only foundations and remains of buildings remain from the village yards.
🔹 What is a single-yard farmstead?
A single-yard farmstead is a separate yard (house with a farmstead) that was not part of the village. In the old days, such farmsteads were quite common, especially in the 18th-19th centuries. Their owners lived separately, ran their own farm and were often descendants of service people.
In such places, you can find old coins, household items, lost things and even treasures! We explored the territory with metal detectors and found something interesting. What exactly? Watch the video until the end!
