I just bought this but haven't taken delivery. I was questioning my purchase till I saw this review. It is very refreshing to see a review in which the product has already been used for a year (very impressed with the cleanliness of the basket. I am fed up with videos where it shows only the opening of the box and no practical advice. Thank you for this - I look forward to now receiving the fryer and using with confidence

This is how a review should be done. Simple, no theory, just pure experience with pros and cos on diy frying for simple people. This review was my deciding factor to buy this. The smaller one though.

Wow I got mine brand new at a thrift store for only $10.00 and I love it best deep dryer I’ve ever owned, it’s a little bigger then this one but it’s the same, when I first got it thought it would be to big but it’s not, thanks, you taught me about filtering the oil.

I'll remember that with the basket, keeping it submerged before you add your meat so it doesn't stck to the basket, thanks for that really good helpful tip.

That is a good tip, I was wondering why stuff kept sticking to it. You just gotta worry about the grease flying at you and spurting when you drop food into the oil quickly.

I know that they have a bigger model with the features, that which you're talking about. However, I hope that they still have the copact model with those exact same features.

Such a simple error! Last night my fryer would not drain. I read manuals, watched u tube, and finally called TFAL this morning. I had put the oil container in backwards so the strainer was in the back instead of the front! Love, love, love this fryer.

Thank you for this review. It was great that you used it for a year and then talked about it. I have one and I'm wondering if there is a way to lock the opening on the front of the oil receptacle box. It stays open all the time and when I move the machine oil spills out from it.

I prefer the oldschool stuff like this. Much simpler to use, and a lot less stuff that can go wrong; I'd take analogue kitchen appliances over digital any day. This is why stuff from back in the day lasted forever, because it was simple and never tried to be a bunch of frills that had nothing to do with it's main purpose.

Nice review. I'm 51 and don't mind the modern tech stuff. Nothing wrong with digital especially if it has presets that helps and frys the food right. I opted to get the Breville smart fryer and its a work horse.The presets are nice and it does the trick. Surprisingly easy to clean too. Light weight easy to manuever.

I can say I truly enjoy this product, all I would add is get a bigger size fryer. Guess what? I have the bigger size and love it more. Frying is the easiest from of cooking, when everything floats to the top all the food is done. Hope you enjoy your Breville smart fryer like I am enjoying my ez-clean fryer.

It’s not clear if the oil box cap (the one in the corner of the oil box) should on or off during regular fry or drain operations. Someone mentioned that if you keep the oil cap on while draining the oil may leak out as the air cannot leave the oil box as it’s filling with oil
@MrNORE143 жыл бұрын
It has always been on for me and everything works on both my units. Only remove it when I'm changing oil.

Hello, I have the bigger size. I'm thinking of selling it and buying the smaller size. I am not too sure about it though. Are there any advantages that the big one has over the small one? I like to just fry a small amount of chips and after the chips are done put a couple of small pieces of fish in or crumbed chicken. I figure I can do all of that with the smaller size? I'd like to get your opinion.
@MrNORE145 ай бұрын
The only difference is the amount of food that fits. Everything else is the same. Hope this helps.

Do you or can you clean the plastic container that holds the oil? If so, can you do a video of you cleaning it?
@MrNORE143 жыл бұрын
Yes, you can also put it in the dishwasher. Sorry, don't believe I can do a cleaning video. Best to clean an hour or so after using it. Hope this helps?
@pollymars37763 жыл бұрын
@@MrNORE14 The reason why I asked you is because I just ordered one yesterday on Amazon and it's going to arrive at my home before the end of this month. So I just needed a few cleaning do's and don'ts on cleaning the inside of that container box. I don't have a dishwasher so I would have to do it by hand. But that container lid look like it's sealed shut.
@MrNORE143 жыл бұрын
@@pollymars3776 you will see it is a very simple put together product, with no frills at all. That's why I like the product. You simply clean it like other kitchen appliances you have. The better you take care of it and clean it the longer it will last. Enjoy!!

@@MrNORE14 So the lid on the box does come off? I thought it was sealed shut. Thank you
@MrNORE143 жыл бұрын
@@pollymars3776 maybe that's an upgrade but my lid comes off so you can clean. Look a little harder, the oil reservoir should have two ways it opens it should have a screw top plastic opening and you should be able to pull back the top layer. Hope this helps?

I am shopping for a deep fryer for the first time after 20yrs, lol. Do you think the size of this fryer is good enough for a family of three? Thanks!!

Fabn40s get the 3.7 qt. deep fryer, it's 10 dollars more at Sam's . Once you have it you'll wish you had the larger unit.

Do you have to wait for the oil to cool down before you turn it to the filtration?
@MrNORE147 жыл бұрын
No, it has a metal device that expands when heat is added and contracts when it is cold. So go ahead and turn filtration on when hot, it won't hurt. Enjoy your fryer!!!
@KILLAMANJARO36 жыл бұрын
I read on Amazon that all say to wait until oil has cooled before filtration. A customer drained the oil when hot to filtrate and the hot oil melted/warped the plastic container.
@rogwheel6 жыл бұрын
It is auto filtration. The unit waits about 3 hours for the oil to cool down before it does the draining
@KILLAMANJARO36 жыл бұрын
According to those that drained the oil and used the filtration, they drained it too soon, while the oil was still too hot and the plastic melted. No one has ever mentioned anything about a 3 hour delay by the unit after one has switched to oil filtration. My major concern is that the oil retention ring problem still has not been fixed by T-Fal. Some folks had a faulty sealing ring and oil all over the counter and everywhere else when they switched to oil filtering. When T-Fal uses better retention ring materials and fixes this problem, then I will buy it. For now, don't want to risk it and it's too bad, because I was considering buying this unit.
@rogwheel6 жыл бұрын
From the manual of the Easy Clean Model #: FR804050 I just purchased: "Your fryer is fitted with an exclusive and patented system for filtration and automatic drainage....the drainage of oil is completely automatic and safe...For your safety the appliance automatically drains all kinds of oil...(in filtering position) when it is cool enough (approximately 3 hours after last cooking). When finishing cooking, turn the Oil box control lever to Automatic oil filtration position." Please see this video for confirmation: kzbin.info/www/bejne/omqchqScor51hpY
