TFC2 | Grant Koomson vs Robert Makarewicz

Salford lad Robert Makarewicz intensely enters the arena preparing to face the ferocious fighter Grant Koomson.
The first round kicks off with Koomson making rapid tackle and lunge attacks. This is a known technique for Koomson who has taken down many fighters with his swift performance.
Beginning with a heavy top Koomson pins Makarewicz to the ground. In the lock he restrains Makarewicz arm in an awkward position preventing him from breaking free.
Whilst holding Makarewicz to the floor, Koomson attempts to smoother his opponent. With mere seconds on the clock Makarewicz was saved by the bell after nearly being knocked out. Despite being new to the game Koomson is well averse to using dirty fighting techniques.
As each retreat to their corner, their coaches give valuable instructions especially to Makarewicz who was clearly beaten in the first round. As the bell strikes for round two, Makarewicz goes with a different approach issuing low kicks to try and knock Koomson to the ground.
Striking at a similar rate the second round closes with both Koomson and Makarewicz fighting on par. The second round was a complete polar opposite too the first round. The fight wasn’t one sided with Makarewicz upping his fighting game. However Koomson didn’t back down and retaliated with powerful high kicks and knee strikes to Makarewicz’s face.
Makarewicz entered the third round with confidence, however it seems his confidence was over zealous. Attempting a high kick for a quick knockout, however Makarewicz fell landing hard on his back. Despite Makarewicz managing to get up speedily his mistake had cost him.
Koomson, using this to his advantage, persistently attack Makarewicz with his rapid strikes. With his fighting skills on point, Koomson once again pinned Makarewicz underneath the mount in a position similar to the first round.
With directions from his coach Koomson begins to ground and pound but makes the fatal mistake of positioning himself at mid height. Loosening is hold on Makarewicz was a mistake. Makarewicz used this to turn the hold around and inevitably pin Koomson to the floor.
With shouts from his coach Makarewicz begins to ground and pound Koomson, striking powerful blows to his face. But with a change of mouth guards required for Makarewicz the fight is put on hold. Once the mouth guard was changed, Makarewicz began to repeat his actions. However the little break gave Koomson the chance to recuperate allowing him to break freak and take charge of the fight, again.
Throughout the fight Koomson has had the upper hand. Makarewicz began to fight with fierce but overall he fought averagely. The third round was Makarewicz best performance but the fall was a crucial mistake. His performance did not outshine Koomson who took the win.
