The Spectrum in Philadelphia is where I saw all the games of my childhood in the early to mid 70's. Loved that building.

Before the Toronto Maple Leafs moved to the Air Canada Centre, I had the opportunity to play on that ice surface twice. Both times, it was a magical experience. The sound of the glass and the way the puck came off the boards was unlike any arena I had played in. I was used to local arenas Bolton and long before that, Woodbridge Memorial Arena. (before it was rebuilt)

How about the Northlands Coliseum/Rexall Place in Edmonton home to the WHA/NHL Edmonton Oilers?!!! From 1979-2016 I think...

My formative years were spend at Winnipeg Arena. Greet childhood memories there.

Can't talk about the Winnipeg Arena without also talking about the MASSIVE portrait of Queen Elizabeth II that hung at one end of the complex. It was about 16.5 feet tall, and 10 feet wide, and weighs nearly 600 lbs. In practices, Jets players would try to hit it with pucks. If there was a defining feature of the old Barn, it was that portrait.

Pacific Coliseum in Vancouver, the former home of the Vancouver Canucks. It's technically still around, but it's not used for hockey anymore. It's used for concerts and exhibitions.

3:31 That was a great arena and the sound was crazy during games . Unfortunately the new arena sucks and if you’re claustrophobic don’t attend any events there.

Am I wrong thinking the San Francisco Cow Palace is the only former NHL arena still standing?
@jayanxiety9 ай бұрын
Yes you are. Even though they've both been repurposed, Maple Leaf Gardens and Montreal Forum are STILL standing. There are a few more standing as well.
@MultiPetercool9 ай бұрын
@@jayanxiety I was thinking more about in “original” state. I’ve been to Toronto and Montreal. I guess what meant was a facility that still can host a a game in a regulation rink.
