cutting power has nothing to do with CVT. Outback has CVT and it would rip that hill apart before giving up, granted traction control has to be off. Tires, then traction control and only then actual AWD capabilities kick in

@wreck_ignition78477 жыл бұрын
+rock That's the point buddy. You don't put drag radials on them when you are testing their 0-60 and handling abilities either. When you review a car, you review it unmodified. This is the package the manufacturer has provided. It's a null point to suggest vehicles are better when you reconfigure them to a specialized scenario.

I know someone who has the Infiniti featured in this video and apparently this vehicle has two catalytic converters and one went bad and they replaced it and then shortly after she started having troubles again and it turns out the first bad converter damaged the second one so they replaced the second one. They don't even have that many miles on it, now they may have just gotten a lemon but that was their experience with it.

The Haldex systems on my Volvos are pretty much instantaneous, and slow witted human beings can't tell how fast they work. I live in the foothills in Colorado and have taken my Volvos off-road, and have driven in the worst Colorado road conditions, and Haldex works fantastic. Stop drinking the Audi and Subaru Kool-Aide. And power reduction traction control works great, but Volvo recommends turning off that system under certain conditions--deep snow and soft sand. But the point is, you can turn it off.

Not on engine and power department though. The QX60 runs on CVT with 285HP on the new 2017 models. The QX70 always carries the more powerful VQ direct injection engine with 325HP. This is the same engine that powers Infiniti's powerful coupe and sedans including the Nissan 370Z.

I own a JX35 (now named QX60) and considering that I have been driving it for almost 2 years now, it's a wonderful car. The suspension is really good, it's a very pleasant car to take on road trips, soft leather, many technologies that help prevent collisions, and a decent V6. I say decent because this is Nissan's V6 and not the Infiniti V6 you find the in the G's. I have tried the hill climb myself and you need a lot of momentum to get up on there. If Infiniti had put wider wheels it would have definitely made it up that hill. It's what I have done at least. None the less, very nice comparison video of the two cars.
@Revitalyzed9 жыл бұрын
888TopGear888 Yes, but they do have their differences in HP numbers but just a few. I'd imagine it's different parts that cause this, but not entirely sure. One of my coworkers has a 370Z and his brother has a 2008 G35. Both have similar mods done, but you can slightly hear a difference in their exhaust notes. The Z seems to have a deeper tone than the G. And going back to what I said earlier, maybe different parts play a role in that.

Roman, I think you underestimate how proactive the modern Haldex systems are. Even 10 years ago in my 2006 Mazdaspeed6, if you attached a volt meter to the electrical line to the control solenoid that activated the AWD, you'd find that the power was constantly varied based on driver inputs. Mild inputs produced mild torque engagement to the rear wheels. Maniacal inputs produced full 50/50 torque engagement even before there was front wheel slip. Mash the gas and you got full AWD activation whether the front wheels spun or not. Same deal if you threw it into corner at higher speeds than you should have. There were only two scenarios in which there was no power sent to the rear wheels: 1) when the car was in reverse, and 2) when the e-brake was engaged. Even just cruising on the freeway you were getting roughly 25% torque to the rear so the system was primed to send more in a hurry if needed. It's no lie that I'd prefer a Torsen system to a Haldex system, or even a simple mechanical-viscous 50/50 system like the old-school Subaru AWD system still found on their stick-shift WRX.... but if Haldex is good enough for Volvo, Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini, and Bugatti, it's good enough for me.

many thanks for your videos! but as european - especially austrian - audi driver i do not know why you are complaining about the a4 allroad car price of about 48.000 USD?! the (nearly) same equipped car does cost about 70.000 USD here! us prices are "sponsored" (i hope this is the right word that meaning?) from all other european buyers! just compare for yourself and visit audi.co.uk or audi.at oder audi.de. you can not calculate the a4 allroad at the moment because the new modell is coming out, but it gives you an idea what we do pay here for such cars. and this is not only a "gift" of audi, it is the same at volskwagen, porsche and so on. one other sample is the gift you all did get from volkswagen, audi and so on because of the dieselgate. in autumn 2015 you did receive about 500 USD? WE in europe did get NOTHING! so please to STOP complaining about prices of such cars - because WE in europe are helping you us guys buy such cars! many thanks ;-) and by the way, how ridiculous is this infinity SUV... Not every Audi under $40 has the haldex system. Great example is the Q5 and A4, which have the "proper" Torsen-based system.
