I am sickened by your (TFL Studios) incessant reference to the "OJ Bronco" and venerating of a convicted felon and sullying the good Ford name and brand. OJ Simpson is a convicted felon, robber, kidnapper and accused wife abuser and accused wife murderer. Please discontinue and edit out any and all of the references to the "OJ Bronco" when the correct terminology should be "Full Size" or "late 70's, 80's or 90's" Version Bronco. But Please STOP the association of the criminal OJ Simpson (who is currently serving a 33 year sentence for the above crimes) and the Ford image!!!!!!! This only sours the taste of the New Broncos (and the old Broncos) by associating the criminal OJ Simpson with this wonderful, beautiful product.

I disagree that the 4R is a direct competitor with either the Jeep or the Bronco. IMO, the latter two are more purpose-built vehicles. The 4R is for people who want to off-road and enjoy the outdoors, but still need a daily driver to cart the family around and maintain a large degree of practicality that, necessarily, more purpose-built off-roaders lack in many cases. I would never take the family on an extended vacation road trip in a Wranger. I know people do ... but the 4R is, for me, a much more practical family hauler, and maintains amazing offroad capabilities while doing so.

The TRD versions (off road and pro) are pretty direct competition and incredibly capable too
@timglascock55583 жыл бұрын
I disagree that the 4R is not a purpose-built offroader - they may be used as a family hauler but they certainly have offroad credentials. It may not be a convertable, you cannot take the doors off as easy, and certainly need to do more pursuation for larger tires but they are amazing offroad. Not all Wranglers or Broncos will be used for hardcore rock crawling or mudding. I hear what you are saying that the 4runner might be more practical for family hauling and the Wrangler and Bronco have some benefits offroad but I think it is worth comparing them because folks will likely use these vehicles in similar ways, will cross-shop them, and would want to know how they differ. Practicality is one aspect to consider but I bet they will largely be used the same.

Same. I bought a 4Runner for all those reasons, even though I wanted a Wrangler at the time. This is so funny, I tuned in to the live stream just before it ended yesterday which was right as y'all were crossing the stream. It immediately struck me as very familiar because it reminded me of the water crossing where you split off between Imogene and Yankee Boy Basin. Then I saw the signs when I watched the entire video. I have no idea how I am so good at recognizing places I haven't been in well over 20 years. Last time I was up there was in 1998 on my motorcycle. Fun times! @@wiks101 well the soft top definitely sucks except for the convenience of opening it. But getting into the back is kind of stupid. As far as the hard top Ford's taking it in the butt for having it made in Germany instead of in the US where they could have controlled it. And since I have a two-door on order now waiting to 2022 I really don't care as long as I get it next year. He likes the bass the cheap plastic inside the Ford but what's going to look better in 10 years.
@darrendaine49143 жыл бұрын
@@wiks101 so if you get an outer Banks without the Sasquatch package which gives you relatively the same tires as a Toyota, and you get it with leather ,and you get it with the roof rack that he said it doesn't come with a rack on the roof and the V6 and the auxiliary switches and six of the eight goat modes, LED lighting the price comes to $53,480.00. I'm not the type of person to go out of my way to get the first edition of anything just to pay more for something you can get on a different model for less money. So every time they compare the price of that Bronco to everything else remember it's the first edition put all those options on something of one of the lesser models and you come up with a lot less money compare that to the Toyota I'll take the Bronco any day and I'll wait for Ford to send me my hard top.

The 4 Runner is great and no doubt the Bronco and 4 Runner serve a majority of the same market but I think its plainly obvious that the Bronco has more potential both out of the box and with modification to be a serious offroader. Much more of a competitor to the Wrangler. The wheel travel and wheel package alone makes a huge difference.

Just the fact that you can fit 35s on a stock Bronco. You have to lift the 4Runner 3", and do a bunch of cutting in order to get 35s on it, once you do that you have to regear because there's no way the incredibly underpowered engine can turn big tires.

They say the engine is slow in that car because it's heavy but that's not really true. It's only part of the reason it's slow. The bigger reason is going to be the massive tires it has to turn on the Bronco.35 inch tires are going to slow down anything. Drag race a base model bronco with the same engine and no sasquatch package vs any v6 bronco with the sasquatch package and the bronco with the bigger tires is going to get smoked.

When Tommy mention that it's the same transmission that's used in Explorer, I bet that has something to do with it as well. The transmission in the F-150 is probably a lot stronger, I bet you that Bronco version has a ton of torque management to really limit the power that you're getting in order to eliminate risk to the transmission. I bet when somebody comes out with tunes for these, they are going to be MUCH quicker.

The two biggest differences are the 4Runner has insane, industry leading reliability and is so, so much easier to live with comfortably on a daily basis when not off roading. All three are great, but if the general population takes a moment to be honest with themselves, 99.9% of people who buy these three will never be pushing it to the extreme limits.
