I have been up that trail many times. The driver of the Ram was having a panic attack before he even started. Put a decent driver in there Like Tommy and it would go right up that trail.

What a crock, truck versus jeep versus side x side. Top of the line Rubicon versus sub par entries in the other 2 catagories. Replace the dodge with a Raptor, Colorado ZR2 or Tacoma TRD PRO, Replace the pioneer with a Yamaha YXZ1000, Can Am Maveric X3 or polaris RZR XP turbo. Now you have a real best offroader comp.

My mom has the 2015 Hardrock edition. The one in this vid is the Hardrock (pretty sure atleast.) but I don't know the year.. My moms looks pretty much exactly like the one in this vid but it doesn't have a soft top like his, it has the hard top and hers is four door unlike his which is two door.. so yeah. xD

so I live out on the east coast. I own a 16 Rebel I've modified a bit for overlanding, 35s, and rock sliders. I've been off roading a few times and the rebel is great for certain things, I rarely ever struggle for traction but with the rocks and trails we have on the east coast, the Breakover angle is the downfall of the rebel, that's why I'm actually in the market for a 2 door wrangler now. the rebel is comfortable and great for the family, but the breakover angle is definitely the biggest downfall of the rebel, yes and it is quite large and you cant see over the hood in certain circumstances.

A pioneer 1000-5 should have been used here. Wider (63” vs 50”) seats 5, has a low range, front locker and will smoke any stock Jeep on any trail.

Good video but the pioneer 500 is the worst sxs to used for this test. I like the pioneer 500 but what you are doing with it is the worst one to use for this. Using a rzr xp 1000 or even a rzr s you could have actually gone up that trail and back down before the other 2 could make it in one direction.

As much as I love the rebel and raptor, they just aren’t the best option for that kinda off roading. To me. Yes they are both very capable, but either the jeep or the ZR2 are the best options you have if you just want to buy an off road vehicle from the dealer. Lift the raptor and rebel and give them better shoes they’ll do great. Idk I just prefer the smaller rides for any off-roading.

The pioneer lacks a front diff lock and is the smallest japanese manufactured sxs intended for narrow trails and work. A modern sxs would go up that stuff much faster and smoother. You get truck stuck you got a 5000 plus pound anchor sxs like 1300 to 2000lbs to pull out. This test just isn't a fair test due to sxs used. The pioneer is 3 wheel drive which showed in first test. This video needs a part 2. A can am or polaris rzr or general. They can go across fields 70 mph truck you'd have to have back and neck surgery possibly resul in death or paralyzed from the lack of suspension at 70 mph. There 2 different animals really. Truck comfort a real sxs much better ride go more places especially on trails

Solid rear axle on all the time and 4x4 so just one front tire spinning unless I can time braking just right.
