Good info about that rod, I'm looking to upgrade my my combos and there are just too many options out there. It's good to hear from actual anglers and not paid spokespeople.

That’s what I aim for 🤙🏼 I’ve got a few higher end bass setups but I really do not like talking about how much they cost because i fully understand a lot of people can’t throw hundreds of dollars at gear…and don’t have to either.

try fishing with berkeley vanish 4lb test line the fish won’t be able to see your line only your bait

I’ve had too many issues with vanish. The only fluorocarbon I use now is Seagaur Red Label

Chris this was great info on the rod and was a lot of fun to watch.. Did the rod seem to do just fine with hook sets or did you find that you had to be a bit more firm when setting the hook?

The tip is fairly soft for a light power so hooksets weren’t a problem. I think it’s a nice balance between a ultralight and light power.

I bought 2 6ft and a 7ft ul, all rods has problem with the top eye guide so far, only used a few times, but already showing grooves in the fishing rod top line guides, looks made out of brass with silver coating?, I use 4lb mono and 10lb braid on the 7ft, very disappointing about the material they used on the eye guides, please share if you guys has the same problem, i checked with with my 6x magnifier, it’s showing brass color on the grooves. I do love the blank, by the way the 7ft feeling like ml or L action, 6ft is true ul fast action,

I got this one used from creefishingadventures and it was used pretty hard by him and I haven’t seen that happen after I got it. The only rods I’ve seen that happen with are the bass pro air stream rods and Shakespeare micro series. And even then it wasn’t all of them.

Which has more backbone the TFO or the Defy Silver ? I have the 6'6" TFO light but curious about the 13 fishing ?

The TFO. the Shimano sensilite UL is comparable though.

I just got one of these, I'm thinking I can catch crappie and bass with it. How many lbs do u think would break it ??

It could handle big fish easily as long as you do your part and fight it properly. A bass around 2-3lbs would be exciting on these rods.

The reel I was using isn’t made anymore, it was an Abu Garcia Silvermax 1000 but those reels were discontinued and replaced with what I think is the MaxZ series reels. However I honestly prefer the Shimano Sedona 1000 size. It costs a little more but it’s a better quality reel.

You could. I’ve personally seen 40+ caught on ultralights.
