Short Ted Greene Baroque lesson using Pachelbel's Canon chord progression in A major with some ornamentation. I've linked to the chord diagram sheet in the top comment.

Aup,I have too say that the late Ted Greene has been influencing me more than ever!! I've actually adopted the theme tunes from my favourite TV programmes here in England,The Sweeney & Minder! It's logical using the chord scales as it were, but Ted did something else that really made sense too me!! Mixing up the different inversions & the same with "Tri Tone Substitutions" takes Joe Pass too another level!!! The possibilities are limitless!! May I congratulate you on FANTASTIC musicianship!!?

Nicely done. I’ll follow along. Any help with Teds Baroque stuff is always appreciated. In one of his videos he says that a lot of Bach is 4-5-1’s and that he uses first inversions a lot. First inversion is another way of saying 3 in the bass am I right?

Thank you for watching. Glad you liked it. Yes, 1st inversion = 3rd in the bass. *In traditional harmony a 1st inversion triad is usually written as I6. That's referred to as "figured bass" ... www.musictheoryteacher.com/pb/wp_48ad909e/wp_48ad909e.html
