I just want to correct you there. Chinese scooters get a bad rep because they use low quality materials. Taiwanese scooters are world-renowned for being high quality, durable, and reliable. In fact, Kymco, another Taiwanese scooter company, apart from TGB, makes such durable and reliable engines, that big name brand companies like Yamaha, Suzuki, and Vespa, buy engines from them. I bought my TGB for a measly $500 several years ago, and rather than purchasing a new motorcycle, I'm just looking to upgrade this one...which is how I came across your video, as I'm looking for info for derestricting the governor, or possibly just upgrading the CVT, as whoever I bought it from put a big bore kit on it, and now it's sucking the gas like crazy. I figure if I derestrict it or upgrade the transmission, I may get more miles out of each tank. No guarantees, but worth a shot. Otherwise, my second option is to possibly upgrade the whole engine/CVT to a 150cc 2T Assembly, which may be my cheaper option, but not easy to find just yet. . Anyways, just wanted to point out that TGB and Kymco are among the world's Top of the Line scooter companies, which, if you happen to still own your TGB at this point, you may appreciate knowing. . Also crazy that you got yourself a 125cc. I've got a little Honda CB125S, 1976, and after years of wanting a motorcycle, I actually prefer the scooter. Scooters, you can carry stuff. The motorcycle, with all the carburetor issues and lack of carrying space, I've found to be impractical in almost every way. I drive my scooter year round, and only now, after about 4 years, am I getting my brakes fixed and new tires, and my gas tank float is malfunctioning. Outside of that, my 2006 TGB Key West is still my most dependable vehicle. I definitely hope to find a 150cc 2T Assembly for it. It's got an 80cc 2T now, good enough, goes 50mph, but like I said, really sucks the gas, and I live in the mountains, so really sucks the gas. . Anyways, nice vid. Hope you're doing well...now five years later. Ride safe out there! People are crazy drivers now, with all this COVID crap. . Cheers, Mate!

Thanks for your comment and I've pinned so hopefully any future viewers can read what I was wrong about. As you can probably tell I was new to two at the time and couldn't find videos on the tgb so wanted to share my thoughts. I never looked into derestricting or upping the power as I got a 125 not long after the 1st year, Now I've a got cb500x. But I do miss the hassle free riding that it was when on a scooter

Do not confuse tgb with china. They come from taiwan. These are quality bikes that use morini engines.

What mean L letter under the license plate.?
@Cookieguy977 жыл бұрын
PokazujeiObjasniam it's because I'm a learner In the UK you can ride without a full license but can't have more than a 125cc, have to do a basic training and have to have L on the back and front.

Is the exhaust on it loud ?
@ragbrai1238 жыл бұрын
when you ride it it seems loud, but when you watch someone ride it you can barley hear it.

i notice ur exhaust it rusty any fixes
@Cookieguy976 жыл бұрын
Hi, I didn't find the rust a problem as at the time i wasn't concerned about looks mainly that it was road worthy. If I wanted to sort it out I would either buy a new one (I think they are pretty cheap) or clean it up with a Brillo pad and cleaning solution, then use some exhaust wrap around the exhaust. The wrap would prevent further damage and would look alright, but that's personal preference. If you only have some surface rust either a brillo pad or wire brush to get the rust off, then clean with a cleaning solution and apply a rust prevention solution or paint with a high heat resistant paint.

@@Cookieguy97 You can also use tinfoil and Coca-Cola on surface rust. Sounds crazy, but works like a charm. Just dip some tin foil in Coca-Cola and scrub with the tin foil. Nice and shiny. :)
