im amazed at how careful and technically proficient they play. they make sure that every move counts, and to leave no openings. on the surface it seems like they're not doing enough, but they are actually aware of all the counters/potential "punishes" and are making sure not to fall into them. a lot of times i see a lot of marvel players get so caught up in trying to do the same combos they play too offensively and light each other up, but the first match for example, they played mad careful and technical. thats just really dope to see that.

God I miss the days of Alpha 2, CvS2, MvC2, 3S and super turbo. I know things need to 'evolve' and change but damn the new stuff doesn't seem to get close to this.

Because it doesn't. The new wave games of esports and accessiblity are dumbing down the genre. This is active on the dev's part, and they openly admit to it. I was talking to my wife about MVC3 and MVCI over sfV, and how much I fucking despise it. Because of this concept that it pushes which is all action all of the time. No zoning, players who think are punished, and players who push are rewarded. There's no variety, no style, horrible direction, and bad character models. We all know why mvci failed, but the fact that it failed in the wake of what SFV represents all a crossed the board is mind boggling to say the least. It's a gem in the rough comparatively. Poor roster and all. Capcom needs to look back in retrospect, seriously. These games were great for a reason.

Justin for sure, having played Sanford in his prime I can tell you one thing his execution is a little slower but he's alot wiser with his decisions than he was back then even though back then he had the execution of khaos lol. And for yipes I honestly think yipes has leveled up from the past. However with that being said as I type this wong has been in the lab in mvc2 so we can definitely expect a leveled up Justin, sanford and yipes at Evo 2020

Silver Saucer Playing against a bunch of vets who haven’t played the game seriously in 9 years does not mean you look untouchable. You have a lot of fan boys new to the game and scene who are not hardcore seeing khaos beating people. The fact is, is that khaos has been playing as long as everyone else and yet was never good or ascended when he needed to. Now after playing non stop for 10+ years he finally decided to get good when the game is dead and nobody plays. Sorry pal you’re too late to the game. Shows over already. 23:00 when the commentators ( I forgot their MVC2 names ) were surprised about magnetos super connecting in the air, one thing you're supposed to do that I forget sometimes to do too when I use magneto is before using his super you have to do hypergraft right before so that it pulls them in and holds them so that the super connects. Cause if you don't, they'll just fall down and it's usually not a good idea to do if it doesn't connect because you can get punished for it cause magneto will be floating up there doing his super. Always do hypergraft before doing his air special.

Just count the times they get hit in this video, and compare that to old school MvC2 play. Old school videos have way more touch of death combos. Look at old videos of Demon Hyo, Chris Schmidt, Potter, JMar, or Josh Wigfall. Look up the season's beatings video of Chris Schmidt v Justin Wong, I think it's 2008. MSP = touch of death combos all day. Old videos of strong cable players are ridiculous, too, although they went out of fashion near the end as Sent/Storm runaway became more viable and stable. I think I've just convinced myself, actually: the guys playing in this video are rusty, I don't think the meta has significantly changed. It's been ten years, it's easier to play runaway with storm than ridiculous confirms into ROM infinite. Although, that still doesn't explain where there's no cable in these matches? Cable was fucking everywhere.

They're called MAS joysticks, you'll have to look around. I'm not sure if the original company still make them
