To correct something: It wasn't Nanahoshi who healed Rudeus. It was Orsted who healed him. But it was Nanahoshi's suggestion to heal him. In other words, Nanahoshi saved Rudeus by asking Orsted to spare him. Nanahoshi herself cannot heal anybody, she doesn't have any mana.

7:43 from what i remember from the LN, Rudy doesn't want Nanahoshi to know that he is the fat guy that saves her so that's why Rudy act so clueless and say "The same sort of thing, I think... it was traffic accident" when Nanahoshi ask what happen before he reincarnated, even though they are in the same traffic accident and Rudy realize that.

And here will come one of the biggest confusions of the entire arc: When people say "Silent", they refer to Silent Seven Stars, aka Shizuka Nanahoshi. Her name is literally translated like that to English. They do not refer to Fitz as Silent, when used it's more of a prefix "Silent Fitz". Also, Fitz is not a special student like Rudeus, Linia, Pursena, Clive, Badigadi, etc. Fitz is a normal student like Ariel, Luke and Elinalise. Nanahoshi is special in the school among Special Students.

5:01 this whole section is confusing because sometimes Rudy and Nanahoshi are talking in Japanese and sometimes they're not. And the subtitles *sometimes* shows when they're talking in Japanese and sometimes they don't. But, basically, Sylphie misses most of what Rudy and Nanahoshi are saying to each other. If you go back to the first scene of the first episode... they mention there were 3 students Rudy saved from the truck... and two of them were missing. Nanahoshi is one of those two. And those names are the people who were with. One was teleported, you saw the other one making a statement to the police. I speculate that *someone* was trying to snatch those 3 kids and Rudy, when pushing the 3 away, wound up in range of the spell. but, being dead, he was reincarnated instead of being teleported. I imagine we'll find out in 3 or 4 seasons!

About missing context, this is something that happens with just about EVERY light novel adaptation. In fact Mushuko Tensei is one of the few LN adaptations that actually does a good job at keeping the important stuff. So while it can be frustrating at times, its no where near as bad as some of the other LN adaptations out there.

1:00 A certain Tales of Phantasia fan translation comes to mind when comparing Pursena and Linia. I find Pursena's puppy-like playfulness very endearing and her little cry at her drumstick being nommed on for some reason is so delicious. 1:30 Luke must feel like he has egg on his face for having been so cold towards Rudeus over something he didn't do. 1:55 the line made more sense storytellingwise when they were still obfuscating that Fitz was Sylphie in the text. There were multiple Fitz and Sylphie chapters, with Sylphie referring to Fitz as a separate person (even having Luke stand in as "Fitz" at one point, but they way they did it is presented later), so Sylphie using Fitz as a proxy to get to Rudeus made more sense at the time. Plus Fitz getting closer and more intimate with Rudeus would've tickled Ariel's fancy... Though she did give her permission for Sylphie to reveal herself even before Rudeus arrived at the uni. 2:35 Silent Sevenstar had been mentioned earlier in the books. The cargo Rudeus was helping escort North in S2E1 was for a shop that was part of a store chain owned by Sevenstar, the daggers he bought with Sara were from one such shop, and the ladies at the brothel had gotten their dresses from either the same or another shop of the chain. Add to that _Dragon Meat, Nanahoshi-style_ back in East Port (S1E19 intro, got skipped) at a certain food shack that Rudeus went Gordon Ramsay over... 3:40 seeing this scene clipped is when I decided to get into the anime. The scene was far less impactful in the manga; Rudeus absolute panic is more visceral here, and there was no humor in him tumbling down the chairs as he saw Fitz at the bottom of them. I read through the WN, watched the anime as was released after that, and absolutely _devoured_ the light novel. 4:25 Human is consonant-reversed Basque, so most people wouldn't know what it is. 6:50 Sylphie's anxiety has to be shooting through the roof. A girl getting all touchy, she'd stated they'd known each other in their shared home town, and they're literally speaking their own language between the two. Sylphie's position as the childhood friend romance is under threat. 8:35 The two Great Human-Demon Wars were global (for the lack of a better term) conflicts instigated by The Great Emperor of the Demon World Kishirika Kishirisu, the second of which ended in the creation of the Ringus Sea. The history of those 7500-5500 and 5000-4200 years in the past are pretty well recorded and known among the people. Rudeus had read that history in the Boreas library, but he likely dismissed much of it. 9:20 You'll see what're canon events, trust me. 14:15 She expected Rudeus to be the one to attack her. Sylphie snapping was a complete surprise to both of them.

Language fun fact: Japanese names say first their family name and then their actual name. So Nanahoshi Shizuka would actually be Shizuka Nanahoshi. Her name "Shizuka" would literally translate to "to be silent"; "Nana" is a way of saying the number seven; "Hoshi" is translated as "Star" So her name is just translated to english as "Silent Sevenstar" to have a more "normal" name.

In the first episode of Mushoku Tensei in season one, the police said that only one of those boys went missing along with Nanahoshi, the other one was still on earth alive because Rudeus pushed him out of the way. My theory about the other guy is that he hasn't arrived yet, if Nanahoshi arrived 10 years after Rudeus and caused a mana disaster, that means time is a non factor. That guy could show up in any point during the future or past and create his own mana disaster. I'd like to say he's likely to be summoned in the future because no indication of previous mana disaster or evidence of his presence. Because Nanahoshi doesn't age, it could even be thousands of years in the future. It also begs the question of the summoner, Kishirika couldn't see them, but if time is a non factor, could the summoner not exist yet and be in the future? What about the past? Is space and time more malleable than people think?

in the book, sylphie narrated her scenes as if she wasn't fitz, but a person always in the princess' entourage that rudeus never noticed as he was busy talking to fitz. that's what she means when she said "you can use fitz" (as an excuse to talk to rudeus privately)

To clarify, from the readers perspective, Fitz and Sylphie were two separate characters. It was a mystery why Fitz was so similar to Sylphie, yet they were talked separately and sometimes in third person. In one scene, Sylphie and "Fitz" were even in the same room together. Although that was a lie, to the readers. And there was an explanation to how Sylphie and "Fitz" could be in the same room.
