The Kuja were all using Haki on weapons as well - even the less strong warriors. Its just a "now YOU the viewer can see it" thing - for now! No need to overexplain at this point.
@manuelvfc62547 ай бұрын
Exactly, using weapons with haki is not that rare (especially in the new world)
@thenameless4227 ай бұрын
And it's okay for enemies to be able to use the same technique otherwise we can't realistically believe they could even act as decent enemies/obstacles for our crew. It's not like knowing how to do it would make Zoro's less impressive. He just cut a mountain in half and a stone-man who's coated in armament from hair to toes with a single technique. Those marine captains could only dream of one shotting a Donquixote executive.

It's not like Zoro was the first. It's just the first time one piece actually decided to show the black on weapons haki. Haki is invisible, the black is for us. They just saved showing the black for a cool Zoro moment but then they still gotta show other people using it later. There should be marines that are able to use it especially since they're new world marines. And notice afterwards they said those who can't go use haki, go to the factory, so it seems like a pretty good ratio to me.
@94tsume7 ай бұрын
No, "koka" or "black Haki" is not invisible to people, it is really black otherwise no one would see "shusui" or "kokuto Yoru" (mihawk's sword) in black! When Luffy makes his first "Elephant Gun" against the Kraken, the mugiwaras see Luffy's fist turn black.
@samgreenblatt70747 ай бұрын
@@94tsume A sword becoming a "black blade" is different from a sword just being regularly coated in Haki, because the latter is permanent. For example: Ryuma's long dead, but his sword's still black even though he shouldn't have any Haki anymore. As for the elephant gun, I forget if that's a thing in the anime, but I can say pretty confidently nobody says anything about it in the manga, and the manga's always more canon than the anime.
@Gopal__S7 ай бұрын
@@94tsume a sword becoming a black blade is more than just haki. That's completely different. We've seen proof already with all the Kuja and people at marineford using haki on their weapons and it was invisible. And when luffy did his elephant gun on the kraken the strawhats did not see the black.

Fun fact: A fan once asked Oda, during an SBS, why Viola and Doflamingo called each other "Viola" and "Doffy". Oda replied that it was a deep secret, which couldn't be told, because it belongs to an adult part of the story. "Viola", apart from being the name of some flower, means two things in Portuguese (we know that Oda likes to use different languages in his characters' names) "guitar" and "to rape". Is this the secret itself? Maybe Doffy did something to Viola and they grew some kind of affection for each other afterwards. 💀

Haki is a mysterious power that allows individuals to harness their own spiritual energy for various superhuman feats. As this energy manifests from willpower, it is theoretically open to all of the world's living creatures; the vast majority, however, are either ignorant or unable to achieve mastery. Haki users are common in the New World, rare in Paradise, and virtually non-existent in the Four Blues. Being able to use Haki don't make you that strong... but having a strong willpower and being able to use haki makes you a beast.

For a Marine to be promoted to a Officer class (when they are allowed to wear that cape thingy) they are required to be able to use Haki (armenment and Observation only obviously). Also the entirety of Dressrose (barring post) takes place within 1 in world day. On a second note Dressrosa, and the following arcs, are arcs that are meant to be binch read/watched due to it's lenght and pacing. Dressrosa when it came out was ranked quite low, but on rereading/rewatching it's one of the better arcs in One Piece.

Also, everyone has Haki. Every vice admiral has haki which got confirmed at the end of Marineford so it's not that weird to think lower-ranking marines also have it, we're in the New World after all. As for the reason they never used it before; The point of us seeing Zoro coat his swords with armament was that it would introduce us to "black blades". We've never seen them use it because it was never visible to us, the watchers/readers! For example, Marineford, Marineford is filled with Haki users but we never see it, not including conq. During Marineford we see grunts in the Whitebeard pirates take down some pacifista's, keep in mind that these pirates were from the New World, we can therefore assume the marines stationed in the New World are also relatively powerful. The marine guy also said "Those of you who can use it", so not absolutely everyone can use it. Just keep these things in mind.

Haki was invisible to the audience until the crew knew about it. It's really that simple. Oda wanted to make sure it was illustrated from the point so the audience actually could recognize it, it's been a thing (whether retcon or not) since Mihawks sword was shown. (Atleast coating a weapon)

Remember you’re in the new world now. Completely different level of pirates and marines. Haki is prevalent in these waters. Hence the training “arc” beforehand. Another note. The main reason you didn’t see mich of it at marineford was because your watching it from luffys perspective and he hadn’t figured it out yet.

But "he has a reason to be like this" yeah sorry man, Mingo sold slaves, drugs, fake fruits you'll see later on, he killed thousands of people and enslaved an entire country, had his henchmen destroy entire cities. Dude's a major douche, the scum of the scum at the bottom of the barrel. There's no justification to his actions, he killed his own father and brother. Great villain tho, completely unhinged and a tiny bit of nuance and character besides his entire persona of pure evil who wants to destroy the world, yeah that overused trope.
