here's come fun facts for you: sentomaru and kizaru aren't blood related. its common for younger people in japan to refer to close family friends as "aunt" or "uncle". apoo's design is meant to reference a radio DJ. even more so since the name of his crew is the on-air pirates. unlike the other supernovas, killer's name is not a reference to anything. oda said he was lazy when he named him. bege's name and design were based on 1920s chicago gangster, al capone. drake's name comes from legendary british privateer, sir francis drake. bonney's name comes from legendary female pirate, anne bonney. urouge's bounty of 108 million berry is a religious reference. in buddism, it is said that in order to achieve nirvana, one must overcome 108 different temptations.

I dont know if anyone has mentioned yet but now that youve met Kizaru, a trend youll see with Oda is making chracters based on actors/famous folks. Like how Enel was based on Eminem. So Aokiji and now Kizaru are based on famous actors in Japan. Aokiji is based on Yusaku Matsuda Kizaru is Kunie Tanaka. Id refrain from looking them up til we meet all the admirals, but going forward if you meet a character that looks reeeaaally distinct. might be a good bet they were based on an actor!
