Hello Viktoria. I am full of admiration for your level of speaking Thai. Really big wow! I'm trying to learn in the country where I live, but it's very difficult. I live in Poland and there are practically no Thais in this country, even in the capital. At work, no one wants to listen to me because no one understands anything at all. I tried to take lessons on Zoom, but I just got stressed out that I was saying it wrong and then I forgot everything, all the words flew out of my head. And after such a lesson, I felt like I had climbed Mount Everest. Your progress is amazing. I can't imagine how you can speak so well after such a short time. This is a really very difficult language. I admire you very much. I could actually learn how to speak Thai from you, which I often do. Greetings, Karolina from Poland.

Hello Karolina! Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! Don't feel stressed by it, I completely understand how you feel, when I was in London learning, I had no one around me learning either. My suggestion is to try and find Thai friends online, apps like Hello Talk can help, and then try learning with them. There are some really great apps out there too. I'm glad my content is helping you too, and if it helps you feel any better, I often feel like the words fly out of my head too! สู้ๆนะ

There are Thai's in Poland! My children are half Polish and were surprised to find more Thai-Po's like them. But they are very rare.

Impressive...not just Your Thai but also Mandarin as well > if not already, in another year you'll be an official Polyglot😜 Very well done Victoria 👏... whoever you work for is very fortunate to have you.

Thank you so much! I feel like I have a lot more to learn before I can claim to be a polyglot...but hopefully one day 😉

I think you set a great example of how foreigners who decide to move to a new country should do. I'm sure you will integrate and do well in Thailand. Have a wonderful stay!

As a fellow Londoner, I understand your reasons for moving to Thailand. I love the fact you did this all in Thai! I totally want to actually start learning Thai. Super inspirational. Keep posting! :)

I am impressed of your almost-perfect-5-Thai-tones. That's WOWWWWW. And Then you said you are able to speak Mandarin too. So I totally understand why you could do all tones. Although I'm Thai.There're many times I mess up Mandarin's tones and Thai tones. Seeing you can do both, I'm so jealous!!!! P.S.I would love to see you speak Chinese as well. But actually I subscribe to your channel because I want to improve my English listening skill.😂
@VictoriaReign Жыл бұрын
Thank you!! I learnt Mandarin first so it has 100% helped me with getting the Thai tones...although I still get the tones wrong in Thai and Mandarin 555555 I'm sure one day I'll do a video in Chinese, but not anytime soon. Don't worry, the bulk of the videos will still be English so you'll get plenty of listening practice 😂😂

Good for you gal. Well impressed with you. It's a long way from the SE, do you miss it? I'm still learning Thai and I am Thai!

Thank you!! I do miss home at times for sure, but so far I am still really enjoying my life and learning journey so no plans to stop yet!

I don't know Thai, but I do watch Thai bl dramas and your Thai sounds really good.
Massive props on the Thai vid. I would have to be at an absolutely ridiculously/unreasonable level before I'd be willing to show it on video! (Which is probably a self-excuse for never lol) It's great that you have no such inhibitions, what youtube needs is more authentic language learners ("polyglots") that have the willingness to show their hand like this ;))

Thank you!!! At first I hated sharing my Thai level on video because I made soooo many mistakes (still do), but the more I did it, the easier it became. Plus I started the channel so I could share an authentic language journey because I always felt so demotivated when I would see polyglots on YT who were always perfect so I have to force myself to be vulnerable in order to show others that we are all struggling together 😂😂

That was awesome to listen to. I understand about 50% of the vocab you used but putting it into logical sentences like that seems a long way away for me. Probably because my Thai gf speaks 100% fluent English (shes a translator) so it's so hard to practice with her.
@VictoriaReign Жыл бұрын
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I'm sure you aren't that far off, eventually it will click into place. I can imagine having a gf fluent in English makes it harder because even with my Thai friends who are fluent, I find myself naturally slipping into English because my brain gets to just relax 😂

I only Speak English but you did really well. I started to read the subtitles but my inner voice nearly drownd you out so I just listened. I know BSL so I was watching your Body Language. It sounds Like a Language I could get to grips with and some of the words sounded English. Your accent went from a Bristish one to a Thai. I'm impressed well done
@VictoriaReign Жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! I made loads of mistakes but that's the whole point of learning 😂 I think Thai isn't as hard as people think once you get over the alphabet rules etc. So you would probably have little problems getting to grips with it. Also some words are English but with a Thai accent which helps because at least not every single word needs to be translated. Thank you again for watching and commenting 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽

My second language is Japanese, my third is Vietnamese, and my fourth will be Thai when I move to Bangkok this month. I don't know if I can handle another language after that 😅but if I do it will be Mandarin or Korean. If you can read Mandarin then Japanese will be so much easier for you since you have a leg up on the kanji. The pronunciation is one of the easiest of any language and can be learned in literally 30 minutes. Vietnamese is by far the hardest language I have studied. Since almost every word is just one syllable the information comes at you so fast when people are speaking! And the pronunciation is completely unforgiving - but it sounds so cool!
@VictoriaReign Жыл бұрын
Oh wowwwww that is so cool! This is making me want to pick up another language! I can read some Chinese but it is my weakest of the 4, but I do recognise some kanji when I've seen it. Vietnamese seems so hard but I agree, it sounds soo coool! I'm sure you'll love learning Thai!

Fantastic Thai…. Very impressive and inspiring… I have a young family …would you say it’s possible to learn Thai from the UK if you can’t spend extended time in Thailand? GOD IS GOOD 🙏🏾
@VictoriaReign Жыл бұрын
Thank you, sorry for the delay in replying! I think it is very possible. I learnt a lot of Thai before I moved, the bulk of the videos on my channel are from before I moved. Also, I can speak Chinese and have never even been there on holiday, let alone lived there so I think you'll be able to learn a lot from the UK!

@VictoriaReign Жыл бұрын
Sure, I believe I finished explore 1 or 2. I can't remember the exact names of the last set of books, but I know I only had 1 or 2 left until I would have finished them all 😊
@mading374 Жыл бұрын
what do you think of Explore 3 - do you think it is worth doing ?
@VictoriaReign Жыл бұрын
If I remember correctly I enjoyed Explore 3 because we learnt about the cultural side of Thailand, such as saving safe, importance of social status etc. I also feel like the lessons became more fun because there was a lot of discussion and sharing our own culture with classmates. I think whether it is worth it, will depend on if you know much about Thai culture and have Thai friends who can help to teach you the important of paying respect to elders and/or people on higher social status. Also if they can teach you slang and idioms because they cover that in Explore 3. Also I was mistaken earlier with the name of the books, I finished Connect 2 and only had Connect 3 left, but I never did 3 because I left Duke.
