If people around the world want to wear Thai clothes, all Thai people are happy to let people around the world wear them. But there are some countries bordering Thailand that have taken the Thai costumes created by Queen Sirikit and falsely claimed them as their own national costumes, not caring that these Thai costumes were legally copyrighted.

In the uk at the time of the Thai royalty visited back then many were admired by her majesty the queen of Thailand traditional luxurious thai materials used during her stays. The silk, the pattern and design details in her clothing made quite a few headlines on the newspapers. We also remembered seeing some of the black and white photos of the Thai queen in front of the royal Albert hall wearing princess like evening ball gown with the sabai added style and she looked stunningly beautiful. Although we had no idea how old she was at the time of the photo and still looked quite young but her grace in representing one of the famous Southeast Asia country leaves a remarkable memory as one of the most iconic fashionistas in both 🇬🇧 uk and particularly for France high fashion world. This is a rare occurrence in those decades as European communities fifty / sixty years ago weren’t as wise and many themselves were still racist towards the lesser of country. If you follow fashion, Japanese on Paris catwalks is common and highly regarded but recently the latest shows of Thai fashion on their traditional costumes collaborated by one of the up coming European designer collection is looking really bright and drawn a lot of interest.

I daresay that India is the model for making sashes. Thai ancestors took the Indian sarong and changed it to be uniquely Thai and developed it until the present day. But at the same time, some countries are claiming that Thailand stole their traditional costumes. They claim that the evidence is found in the carvings in the walls of the ancient site. Even though the ancient site did not belong to their ancestors, it was the art of the Tamil Indians in Thailand at that time. They gave up what their ancestors had inherited and instead wore Thai clothes and claimed that Thailand had stolen them from them. If we go back 30 years ago, they didn't wear the current Thai clothes that they pretend to own. There is only Sampot which is their national costume. But because of the influence from the series Thai movies and dramas which they watch on Thai television channels Including Thai art and culture is gaining popularity. They then turned to wearing Thai clothing and accused the Thais of stealing theirs. That is a despicable act.

Even Thailand has evidence of who designed all the Thai uniforms. Cambodia is still brazen in accusing Thailand and continues to claim Thai uniforms without paying any attention to anything. The country that is most annoying is Cambodia.They don't dare show evidence of the past like Thailand.
