Mbeki is undoubtedly very intelligent! You see that in the way he discusses and/or analyses issues and also how he conducted himself and business while in office and after! He has never contradicted himself on any issues, and that only happens with truthful leaders! When a cabal of corrupt (mostly tribal), power hungry types like Zuma and others conspired to end his presidency, he left happily and has continued helping his country and Africa in general in many other ways eversince! We ought to appreciate people like Thabo Mbeki.

He wasn't an AIDS denier, He was arguing the fact that AIDS can not be classified as a syndrome but a virus because a syndrome is a genetic defect from birth n AIDS is a virus which is caused by an external agent(the HIV virus).
