This is the part of Southeast Asian history that we have not been exposed to. Thank you for sharing for such a wonderfully made movie. I should have known that there were battles between Burma and Siam, or Siam and Cambodia. Angkor Wat -- The Thais said that it was theirs. The Cambodians of course would vehemently denied and took a claim that the Wat was theirs. This is good movie.

This film reminds me the wars in our history- Sri Lanka. Our brave warriors fought fierce battles against Invaders from India,Netherlands, Portuguese and British. Our warriors never fell behind. In the times of King Parakramabahu the great Sri Lanka invaded Burma and India to solve internal issues as well. Most important thing is the aim of all wars done by Sri Lankans is to protect Buddhism from invaders. When invaders try to cut down the Sri Maha Bodhi tree in Anuradhapura we don’t think twice to put our head on to their sword other than cutting the Sri Maha Bodhi tree ! Sri Lankans always sacrifice our lives to protect Buddhism in the sake of every being . THAILAND is also a great Buddhist country there fore I love these type of movies by Thailand ❤❤

This invasion of Burma especially Bagan by Sri Lankan Navy is a made up history. First of all Bagan is not a coastal city but in the upper Burma. There is no way Sri Lankan Army can sail across the Indian ocean and then up the Irrawady river to get to Bagan. Nothing in Burmese history mentioned invasion by Sri Lankans?

Once in a great while you come across a great movie that blows you away, well this movie definitely did that to me, WOW!!! Though we probably all wanted the independent tribes to win in the end, it was clear to me that they decided to go out fighting rather than submit to the Burmese hence the reminiscing at the end... Hugh ovation to the Thai people, cheers from an American, you're a brilliant race that I am totally in love with!!!

I believe this is actually set during/just after the 1767 war, when Siam had no capital and was split between 5 generals/warlords. Very interesting period; the current dynasty traces their origins to the chaos during this time.
