Nice review. One of the great aspects of flying TG before the company introduced their Thai Smile subsidiary in 2012 was that you could fly an internationally configured widebody even on domestic Thailand flights. That changed after Thai Smile was introduced, as well as for those regional routes TG handed over to Thai Smile.

Ah those good old days. I loved flying TG between BKK and PNH.

@@trikkietrik I used to fly in and out of PNH and REP a decade ago. Once upon a time I used to rank TG closely behind SQ. But sadly, TG's standards have been slipping since the 2000s. I haven't bothered flying them since 2013. The other big reason I avoid TG is because of BKK airport which I find too hot and stuffy inside. My Thai friends tell me the airport corporation deliberately turns down the aircon to 'save money'. What a joke of an airport!

Thai are gonna retrofit the A320 to have a proper business class cabin.
