He is saying : is she brain dead. (Not heart dead as the translation says). Also he says «sinnsykehus» as in mental hospital. Not psychopath hospital. Yes the police here in Norway have a huge focus on solving situations without them escalating. Negotation tactics, a lot of psychology behind it. They are not perfect, but it should be like that more places, things don’t have to turn to violence every time. This guy is from Lofoten which is north, and up north people are more outspoken and direct. They also curse a lot so, swear words are taken more lightly even though it may sound insulting at times. This guy probably meant to insult though, but he was drunk and needed to sleep it off. Thanks for the reaction! 🇳🇴

In North America, cops are sadly undertrained. There is a racial historical component which explain why they are lagging behind so much tho.

@@MaxSujyNorden yeah I know. It’s crazy how easy it is to become one over there. Not everyone can be a police officer just as any other job. It doesn’t fit everyone. To get the best end result you need to thread lightly. 👍

Not to be pedantic, but "sinnsykehus" would more accurately translate to insanity hospital, so I assume that's why they translated it like that, because sinnsykehus is not a politically correct way of referring to a psychiatric institution.

Police training in Norway is a three-year vocational training offered at the Norwegian Police Academy. You go to school for one year before doing one year in practice in a police or sheriff's district. In the last year you are back at school. The study gives you a bachelor's degree.

That's clever! A mix of trade school and normal classes. You guys are so far ahead of North America!

His voice is muffled/changed because you're not supposed to identify who that is, which is why they hide his face as well. It's very interesting to watch for example: border control/customs shot in Australia where all faces and voices are shown vs in Norway where all the faces and voices are hidden.

He didn't say he was a jelly. He said he was a pudding, meaning soft and squishy. But so are jellyfish. :)

They took him too the normal hospital to check that he's fit to stay in the drunktank overnight. It was just the drunk guy who called it the psyke hospital

I used to work as a teacher in...4 different prisons in Norway. Cops are sort of all over the place, the same as the prison guards. And the inmates too, it is kind of interesting. :) Og hvis noen der ute ikke tror at jeg er norsk, I am. ;)

4:12 He says "pudding" which directly translates to pudding (but Norwegian pudding is usually more of a jelly-product or at least soft and squishy). The meaning behind it is someone being soft, plump and/or weak. Measured response is expected by the Norwegian Police. They might have been justified in using more force, but if more force weren't necessary to solve the problem, then they shouldn't do it just to possibly save a couple of minutes. Unchecked, this person was a moderate risk to himself and others, but that was almost negligible while the police were present, so they would/should go far in avoiding any violence, but I've seen police-officers in Norway doing a poorer job of it. Not everyone is in it for the same reasons, but the public's expectation is more like this video than anything else.

I read somewhere that 80% of cops in the US voted the Trump. The motivation to become cops for a lot of American is an ego-power trip thing. It's a revenge for the guy with a bad childhood or that got pick on. Yes, a lot of cops in the US are mentally unstable. Of all the profession cops in the US are the highest went it come to domestic abuse.

The people from Lofoten were rowing out with their fishing boats to the north atlantik and polar ocean until 20th century until oil was found in the norwegian sea. Maybe a bit longer. Really a tough job. Mainly fishing is done now by bigger trawlers from trondheim but on nice days the people still go out on their rowing boats.

I see lots of speculation in chat if the voice is changed or not, but it's not. I live close by the area he lives, and it's pretty normal to have a deep voice here. It sounds pretty normal to me.
