OMG...... I made this recipe and most say it was FABULOUS. I’m the only one within my siblings that never liked dumplings but these were delicate, light and delicious. I just love the way you present your recipes and I LOVE MAMA NOI..... she is so funny and genuinely REAL. I also joined your all access club. I got my first delivery this week and can’t wait to make recipes. Keep up the fabulous recipes coming.

But the oil was just to fry the garlic. She stated that the garlic flavour oil will be used for other dishes. Notice how little she drizzled onto the dumplings.

Marion, you are my favorite, and give such good instructions too. Just one question please ,how long do you cook the dumplings in boiling water for , how do you know when they are ready? Is it a guess, or is there a clue?! Many thanks

Evitasd, as they are fresh, gentle boil almost just a simmer just until they turn pink and start to float would be my guess. If they are frozen it may take a minutes or two more.

How long can you keep the garlic oil for? Also in the fridge?
@iKaBanana5 жыл бұрын
pavvie I’ve kept mine at cool room temp for a month without problem, but I wouldn’t recommend higher than that. I’ve heard putting it in the fridge might soften the garlic bits, but I have yet to confirm that.

@planetusa13 жыл бұрын
I'll answer my own question as i just made them. I thought the store bought wrappers would take away from the shrimp taste. But you can pack a ton of flavor into each dumpling. And with the secret sauce? Its verging on food heaven.

aye look ah recipe with "bird pepper" lol. Hi, hailing from Trinidad and Tobago
@rice4yu_4 жыл бұрын
Elizabeth Richards So you might be thinking of bird pepper from The Caribbean but in Thailand there’s the bird’s eye chili or birds eye pepper. They are definitely related. Although both spicy, both are different. Thai birds eye chili is used throughout SE Asian cuisine while bird pepper is used in many south USA, Mexican, carribean, and South American cuisine. in the western world, bird peppers also have many relatives that look similar AND different that are also called bird peppers
