Always refer to your channel for folks looking for gear and insight! Thanks for everything, Coach Vik. Nobody makes a quality shinguard like the OG Twins Special slim competition style. Haven't found the perfect replacement during the legal drama era but Combat Corner out of Milwaukee is a solid second for my build( thick calves and legs). But I find most modern shinguards "too protective" in some ways and lacking in others. Also everyone is making the same build/style. My SLG3 I had back in the day were the best. I'd love to just buy my damn Twins products direct, like its 2010. :(

Thank you for the support and the kind words man. funny that you bring up the shin pads because I was literally just admiring my slims yesterday and how they really are the best shinguards out there. Infightstyle makes a pair that comes a bit close but still doesn’t compare. As you said, they make them too protective. Just got back from Thailand and stocked up on the shin guards so I have a few to last me the next Couple of years.. but I did find out that if you message a few of the Muay Thai shops through WhatsApp they may be able to ship you some twins products incognito 🤫

late to the party but i disagree. the neoprene shin style pads have been the best in my experience. mainly theyre the most realistic in terms of fit and feel to no shinguards. especially like them for sparing becuase they stick to you and dont constantly move around or have to be adjusted every 30 seconds. also the overprotective shinpads create bad technique and false sense imo. finally keep them clean by simply washing them in cold water and letting them air dry. layer some baking soda as well and youre good to go.

Lmao you’re about to hate me. I’ve had hyabusa. I hate that glove strap system. It always messes up my wrapping. That being said I’ve never had wrist injuries from their gloves. I actually have a pair of 14oz that I just throw on and hit bags. I don’t bother to wrap cause I’m usually doing a circuit when I have those on. Or I’m lazy. That’s on their old stuff. The new stuff I haven’t tried. I do have other brands... fairtex, windy, venum etc. Hyabusa does get gadgety. Trying to spar not call the justice league. That said. I don’t have good luck with their mma gloves. Well any set of mma gloves really. The shin pads... I prefer the style that you hate 😂. I tried the other styles and it’s constant adjustment etc. I’ve had those styles in hyabusa and venum. Never had a smell issue but I usually clean my gear and my bag is made out of micro something hemp etc. Datsusara... really great quality stuff. I like these cause there’s no adjustments for me to do during sparring. I have the calves of an athletic Girl Scout. But I have ridiculously strong legs. And I sweat. Literally the top adjustment strap and then go spar. Admittedly I’m used to the sock style. I started learning Muay Thai as a kid from my dad who was in the military and learned in Thailand. But that was more defensive applications. It was basically so I don’t go breaking other kids lol. Never understood that till I got jumped on my bday. Literally no damage was done to me but the kids that jumped were... broken. 🤷🏽♂️ All I did was blocks, checks, sweeps, dumps etc from Muay Thai. Majority of striking I did was in karate, TKD, etc. Till I went back into Muay Thai and got more into offensive etc as well as defense. I had to do constant adjustment each round.
