Crikey Joe that scene on the bridge brought tears to my eyes, especially when Gift was a wee bit emotional. You are a bit of a romantic Joe. Well I got it half right. From your earlier hints I knew you were going to propose, but I thought it was going to happen in either Italy or Germany with your family. Wishing you and Gift wealth, health and happiness for the future, especially the latter two. I have been married to a Thai from Issan for 30 years now. A lot of patience and humour on both sides is required, as the thought processes of a Thai and a "falang" do differ on some things, but nothing insurmountable. I think I have turned more Thai though than my wife has Scottish lol
