Thailand floods Durian farms destroyed

it started raining hard yesterday and did not stop until the moring.We woke up to flooding around our community and found farms flooded out .Many durian farms are flooded and I have never seen this much rain and flooding in Thailand in a long time.

In Malaysia nowdays, it is absolute important to have proper irrigation, large pond and 6-7 feet high mound to avoid this thing from happening.. unless you are in the high land.. only solution is to pump out the water, build deep irrigation between the mound and around the farm and put dolomite to stabilize the pH..

In Malaysia we starr plant durian tree on the mounds.

Scary sight, in 2020, just 3 days after I planted my first 600 Trees, we got a flood and lost 150 new trees, The thing is that land has never flooded even once in living memory, and the lowest lieing 150 trees that died were on a hill so should have drained quickly, It wasn't a natural flood, it was 3 newly constructed goverment dams upriver that broke at the same time. Even the unusually oversized domes didn't help, man made disaster, But, it can't happen again as those dams were not rebuilt... 😢😢

I hope you're doing alright despite the recent flood that affected most of crops in north east of Thailand, I can't imagine how disheartening the farmers are ,to see all their hard work over the past several years and drown like this. Keep your spirits high, my friend. The journey of creation is full of ups and downs, and the passion you have put into your work that truly matters. Hope the water keep flowing, at least there are enough O2 to feed the root system.

Great video Terry, I forgot this is your Southern farm. Wow, that retention pond is F-U-L-L. Was the rain primarily in the south, or did it get as far north as Kanchanaburi?
