Great vid Kev and no need to apologise. Our forefathers gave their lives for our liberty and freedom. As an ex-serviceman myself, I acknowledge and appreciate such a sacrifice. Difficult and emotional video well handled. Respect!!

I was there 2004. Some of the men with only young boys aged 18. Really sad but also amazing. Watched the film before I saw the bridge. So made it even more touching. I too would say that anyone going to Thailand should make that trip.

I know its a really sad place to visit, but isnt it nice to see how the Thai authorities and the people of Thailand keep every thing clean and make sure all the graves have flowers. Respect to them.

Jason Owen the commonwealth war graves commission pays all upkeep. The Thai workers hand the jobs down to family members as it is a well paid job by thai standards and yes the try do a great job with pride and respect I lived in kanchanaburi for 15 years my son was born there love the place.

Great vid Kev. I went on Remembrance Sunday in 1999. Did a day tour from my Bangkok hotel. Cost about 1500b and was the best trip I have ever done in Thailand. The salvation army, and the British ambassador go every year so if you go again I recomend Remembrance Sunday.

My mother told me about a soldier from my home town who was a prisoner on the Burma railway and hellfire pass, he used to escape each night under the fence and get food for the other prisoners he came home after the war and became an alcoholic and who could blame him.

Hi Kev, yes I also have visited this special place and being choked up is nothing to be worried about it. It is a very moving place and for all those who lost their lives for freedom. Such places are kept by the wonderful Thai's who acknowledged their bravery in that time of oppression . Lest we forget

Dont apologise kev .i was there in 2015 and yes it is a very emotonal place to go , your blokes copped the worst of it and ours were near behind .The loss of young life is terrible all those young men who never had a chance to have a life as you point out from the ages if you get a chance watch the railway man video and if you can get it read some of the stories in a book called "men of the line " but now they lie in a place of peace .

Well done Kev in showing your emotional side. You don't have to say sorry for it at all, as I have been to that very same cemetery many times and it always gets me. One headstone will always stick in my mind, it was of a 19 year old English lad whose job was to sort out the mail and deliver it to the troops. Very sad indeed. "We Will Remember Them"

I seen the movie several times, and not happy, and you showed the river, and where are hero's lay to rest.. as a U S Marine, retired, I have to say Semper FI to all these lads...

First visit in 2009 and the metal bridge had lethal open floors on those outriggers, which were later covers in steel plates. The museum and war cemetery will upset any body with human empathy and make you reflect on the disregard modern politicians are busy throwing away our hard fought for freedoms!

Very sombre day we spent there Kev. One thing that struck me was how many men in their late twenties and early thirties died there. I thought they must have been part of the regular Army in Singapore. Along with our visit to S27 and The Killing fields in Cambodia they were both very sombre and sobering experiences. One thing that happened while we were at the cemetary was a party of Japanese schoolchildren turned up. The were running all over the graves laughing and joking. I know they were only children and would not know the importance but it made me very angry.
