I am 59yoa retired in jomtien beach. have my apartment and motorcycle. as a rule, i am not on my motorcycle after 10pm. IF i go out or am out after that time, which is rate, i take a car share ride or if needed motorbike taxi. i do not drink alcohol though i do not want to be stopped at these checkpoints and a "unreliable" portable intoxilyer suck in my face and give a straw. not happening. my neighbor (62yoa-dutch) that i know well does not drink 1130pm in jomtien at checkpoint they give him "the" stick and a nice personal straw to use. as you know there is yellow, red and green. from what i hear only RED on the machine-then "you pay" one way or the other.. "here" or later he blew yellow. they guy has not drank is 19yrs. residual from the guy before him. the cops just yelled at him "go" and he went down the street. does anyone trust the reliability of those portable intoxilyers? i do not. taxi, bolt thank you or stay home and Netflix for me.

I very much doubt that the gold thief was an ex-pat. He is far too young. Most likely, he was an opportunist backpacker, needing cash to fund the journey to his next destination.

I cannot understand why someone would try to swim to shore and risk his life instead of just holding on to the jet ski until help arrives. A jet ski cannot sink and rescuers would have undoubtedly found them. We are not talking about the cold North Atlantic where you could freeze to death, we are talking about the Gulf of Thailand where the water is as warm as a bathtub. In Pattaya the rescue teams have helicopters and lots of boats. They probably wouldn't have found them in the middle of the night, but at the latest shortly after sunrise.

when he mentions the "flying club" from what i know it is more jomtien than pattaya. though i do not have hard statistics of such. my thoughts: unfortunate it is older O-visa (retiree's) that probably did not have enough funds to retire in their county and/or did not want to be there and "found" thailand. then ran out of funds here and had no mean or reason go go back to their nation in their thoughts. sad and unfortunate.

Countries next to Thailand these days like to create problems. Like working together, I don‘t know yet.

Why would a nursery school teacher need a steel ruler? They are primarily used by construction-related professionals who require a robust tool that maintains its accuracy in harsh enviroments.

Come on Alx, it's pronounced Pa Ta Ya, not Pat ya😂

Drug trafficking causes a lot of mental illness, suffering and deaths, and it affects a lot of innocent people, not just the drug users.

That’s true… it also gives responsible users who also contribute to society a bad reputation

Why do you pronounce Pattaya as "Patteeya" when it's actually Pattaya. Sounds ridiculous.
@HeicoHomburg6 күн бұрын
Ask 5 Thai people in Pattaya how to pronounce Pattaya. You will probably get 5 different answers. Ask 5 farangs, you will get 5 more different answers.
@onlineteacherdude12846 күн бұрын
Because he actually know how it is pronounced - you pronounce it incorrectly. The Thai is พัทยา - learn the sounds / tones and you will also learn how to prounounce it. Its not "Pat -ah-ya", it's "pat -tee-ya".

@@HeicoHomburg There are only two ways to pronounce it the right way or the wrong way.
@onlineteacherdude12846 күн бұрын
@@HeicoHomburg no, maybe with the farangs of course, because none of them know how to speak Thai nor have any interest, but Thai's pronounce it only 1 way, and that is พัทยา.
