Many Thai girls are sitting around with no one to drink with, clubs are closed. Many lonely men are leaving Thailand and going to Vietnam, where it is now cheaper and livelier, the Thai currency is very expensive and many tourists do not come to Thailand anymore.

Do you recommend Northern and Central Vietnam in March and April? I'm trying to avoid the burning season pollution.
@DianHuangАй бұрын
I prefer Central
@unknownmanfrommars7443Ай бұрын
- March in northern Vietnam is cold, humid, often overcast and foggy. The only thing beautiful during this period is that the trees start to grow leaves again, around mid and late March, before that the trees are bare, the sky is overcast so taking pictures is not good. - April is quite similar to March but warmer. - May is the time when most trees in northern Vietnam bloom so it is very beautiful. As a local I think March and April should be the time to avoid

@@unknownmanfrommars7443 How about January and February?
@unknownmanfrommars7443Ай бұрын
@@melee75 It's winter in Northern Vietnam: - December: Shiny, dry and cold, heavy fog in the morning, easiest time to witness cloud of sea in mountainous area. At night ice and frost might appear. - January: coldest month, mostly dry and cloudy, sun might appear depends on days. Snowy weather have highest chance to appear in this time, be careful with icy and slippery roads on mountainous areas. - February: nearly exactly similar to January, and have Tet, the Lunar New Year I highly recommend October to mid December in Northern Vietnam for best experience.

I used to like Thailand but after moving to Thailand, I don't love Thailand so much anymore for many reasons(I still think that Thailand has a lot of good points and Thailand is a good place for short stay as a tourist. ) I like Vietnam much better than Thailand and I decided to move to Vietnam next month (of course my feeling to Vietnam may change. But I travel to Vietnam many times and I found Vietnam is better for me) Unlike old Japanese, I'm not interested in Thai ladies, I'm a very serious person who don't like drinking alcohol, going to bars. I think it tottalty depends on your personality and your personal preference that which country is better.

I am considering retiring in Thailand in about 6 years. I will go there in December to see if I feel like it is a place that I can live. I am curious about possibly retiring in VN as well, but just something about being a communist country makes me a bit nervous. Being an American, I grew up hearing all these horror stories about communism. I'm sure it is probably ok, it just gives me a bit of pause considering Viet Nam.

It's less communist than England so in other words it isn't communist. You won't have to queue up for rations and everyone has a business. Believe me you will feel more free in Vietnam. It's one party yes but you don't get all the politics like in the US which to me is a good thing. Political power is not centralized but instead localized to each area from what I can see.

Main difference .. Thailand is the largest Bordello in Asa, major drawfactor for male tourism .. Soi Cowbow & Pattaya comes to mind. In Vietnam, women are conservative, and cost of living relatively cheap, except for rental cost, designed to rip-off foreigners. Have lived in SE Asia about 26 years.

thats so interesting. so cool you have lier here for almost three decades. which countiries have you lived in. which country has changed the most. I am Japanese and I like Vietnam better than Thailand. I live in Thailand but I decided to move to Vietnam😂😂 I can't stand living in Thailand anymore. I feel Thai people welcome westerners more than Asian foreign people,some Thai people like to talk to Western ers but they are not interested in talking to Asian foreigners(some Japanese are the same though) The quality of air in Chiang Mai is much more terrible than any city I know in Vietnam. Traffic in Thailand is more terrible than traffic in Vietnam. Thai people are not as talkative, generous, friendly and helpful as Vietnamese people. Thai people may smile at strangers more but as a Japanese I sometimes feel strange because Japanese people don't have that habit Thai food is very tasty and has a lot of variety but lacks vegetables. Vietnamese food is healthier. Vietnamese language is easier for me to learn than Thai language. In the past Vietnamese used to use Chinese character, so Vietnamese is much easier for Japanese and Chinese people to learn. In Vietnam I don't see very old dirty cars which harms environment, where at in Thailand there are so many dirty old cars which destroy the environment. In Thailand there are too many lady boys and similar people in Vietnam I don't need to get sick of seeing unique people(in Thailand there are other kinds of people who often annoy me like people who are always moving. Their legs, people who are always coughing(Thai people suffering due to the bad air)
