Ohhh Ewa, stereotyping is very dodgy. I'm approaching 66 and my idea of a perfect trip would be a month on my bike, with a tent, stooging around the mountains and less occupied parts of Europe... or maybe Norway. Anywhere that has interesting roads and not too many people. Loving this series.

When you get back to the UK & look back at the madness & craziness of the roads in Thailand, you will miss it. When you are sitting in gridlock traffic, Thailands roads will make sense. I have been spending the winters in Thailand since 2000. When I return to the USA, I am amazed on how insane the traffic is here. I think it is because the government is involved in every action you make on the roadway, thinking their control will make things better, it just makes things worse. I have never had anything stolen in my stays in Thailand.

Hi Rich Eva another great one. Itchy Boots and then you two what a great day. Seeing all those riding bikes in casual clothes no helmets got me thinking about here in the UK. We can get nicked here for riding an EBike with a throttle and we're being taxed heavily to get to Net zero before any other country and yet our level of pollution is one of the lowest. No wonder one of my mates chose to live out there. Eva great question ex pat or immigrant ! What the answer is I don't know either. Stay safe you two . Ted

Fairly tame traffic - a gentle Sunday afternoon! 😁 I learnt to drive in Kuala Lumpur quite a few years ago now and that was, erm, very interesting. Imagine trying to learn to drive in wall-to-wall traffic with nearly no rules forcing your way out of junctions etc... The Arc de Triomphe roundabout in Paris (Place de l'Étoile) is a walk in the park to most Asian cities. That scooter following you to the guest house was behaving a bit "suss".

According to google: An expat is a person who lives outside their native country, usually for a limited period of time, and may or may not intend to return to their home country. On the other hand, an immigrant is a person who moves to a new country with the intention of settling there permanently.

I miss simple food like Bread and Potatoes most when away!
Chiang mai is my favourite spot because ur surrounded by perfect mountain roads, but for beach life, u cannot beat Krabi or the islands. If you can get up north get urselves up Doi Intanon, Thai highest mountain, i warn u tho, the temp will drop, in December expect 5-10c daytime at the summit, and yes you can drive right to the summit, criminal I know, but a bikers dream, 2.5km above sea level
