Nun haben wir uns mit Charley und unserem thailändischen Partner Peera auf ein außergewöhnliches Abenteuer eingelassen: eine Motorradtour durch den Dschungel Thailands bis an die Grenze zu Myanmar mit der brandneuen 1300 GS. Diese Reise war mehr als nur eine spontane Idee - sie war die Erfüllung eines lang gehegten Traums!
Für Abenteuerlustige ist eine Motorradreise durch Nordthailand ein unvergessliches Erlebnis, das tief in die Kultur, die atemberaubende Landschaft und die herzliche Gastfreundschaft der Einheimischen eintauchen lässt.

Charley Boorman's motorcycle touring adventure began with the legendary “Long Way Round” tour together with Ewan McGregor. A lot has changed since those early days. Charley has completed countless motorcycle and travel projects, including taking part in the famous 2006 Dakar Rally and traveling 30,000 km from Ireland to Australia for his TV series “By Any Means” - without using a plane. Super wie leichtfüßig sich die neue Generation der GS bewegen lässt. Das ist einfach ein Traum auf zwei Rädern. Da müssen sich Japaner und Chinesen warm anziehen. So einem Top Produkt können die lange nicht das Wasser reichen 👍🏼😃

So Lekker🇿🇦 (means nice 😊), to watch the guys managing these rather large machines off road. We did Sani Pass here in Lesotho/South Africa recently on 1200GS bikes. I'm always in awe of how well they perform on the gravel. The rider is the limiting factor... the bikes are able to do almost anything 🤔. Keep it up lads, nice series of videos. Ciao, Joe. Utterly fantastic trip, inspirational! I dream of doing something like this one day. I get that this is an advert for Touratech and the GS but not sure I'd use such a big heavy bike. Watching them pick up and push the bike in clips looks exhausting. Wrong tool for this job?

Several years ago I had Canadian rider comment when traveling through Eswatini (Swaziland) how poor and backward the people were... I asked him late that evening about his own living circumstances. He lived in a small apartment, was single and had Netflix for company. The man he was commenting about was involved with subsistence farming, had three wives, several happy kids all going to school and his patch of land had an incredible view over the Swazi mountains... i wonder how do you guys top up the fuel. Because in thailand countryside there is no proper fuel station. The groceries shop by the roadside is only selling low quality fuel. If I'm not wrong 1300GS & 1250GS need to refuel with RON95 petrol.

Riding and battling with those behemoths.... Hahahahaha. I own a 1200 but use a 350cc for dirt. Muuuch easier. No crashes.
