Your videos are absolutely amazing. I learned so much about sapphires watching your channel. Using few lab equipments I can really understand how much should I quote the seller and how much should I quote to foreign buyers. Thank you very much for sharing this great content. Recently bought a lot of blue sapphire time to see which one are heated and which one are natural. I hope there is more than 1 natural once in the lot.

The ink spot can even be seen with a naked eye at certain angles in a day light, depending upon the size of the stone as well. But, very informative and thoroughly explained.

sir, do you recommend for the unheated blue sapphire for its texture, quality and price wise?
@i.m.Q.2 Жыл бұрын
Have you ever scoped one of those out, and saw a finger print like inclusion? Years ago i bought this one sapphire for $1500 was it? Supposedly unheated. You ready for this? I scope it. You could see all the rutile broken up! You could see the iron in there as it was like cake mix peppered in. It looked like the finger print inclusions like berrylium treated stuff-but not quite. I never bothered with the oil immersion. I wish i could find the pics of it from my laptop or the other unheated one. Ironically its kinda like some of the old Ceylon (sri lanka material) but no zoning or windowing. Under the right halogen lights? You can see little specs of silver from the rutile. Its only a little 2.07 but ive got no regrets. Funky little off color like a corn flower? Discounted. The guy said heated. Scope says otherwise though yours is better than mine. 😊

@@ThaiNativeGems One thing I've learned over time, don't rely on certs. I'm not saying they're worthless, but it's amazing to see the obvious on some things and the cert says something different. That's why I don't put a lot of stock in a GIA cert. When the scope says flux, you get this lawyer/schizoid argument that says they can't say that. Then you hear from someone overseas that says they treat these stones with this copper and say it's natural-on a GIA cert each and evetytime.

How much tempreture required for emerald filling with resin
@shanthgamage72 жыл бұрын
The epoxy resin Opticon, a filler that has been used in Brazilian emeralds, is an example of an artificial resin. Fillers can be divided into four groups-soft (liquid) fillers, semi hard fillers, surface-hardened fillers, and hard fillers

How much x loop is used to find out heated stones ? Pls advice
@ThaiNativeGems Жыл бұрын
If you do simple search on Amazon or other online sites, I am sure you get a reasonable priced gem-loupe. But, its not only about the gem-loupe but the practice in now how to see if the stone is heated or untreated. For average person, I do recommend to just send it to reliable third party certificate provider. I have actually written article about this which you can read here: www.buygemstone.info/what-lab-or-certification-is-the-best-for-checking-your-expensive-ruby-sapphire-or-emerald/ Regards, Tarun Gupta, GIA GG

What if it looks like the unheated but has blue cloud??
@ThaiNativeGems8 ай бұрын
Like any detective work we have to look at multiple clues to see if the stone has been subject to treatment or not. Blue cloud can be 'normal' color zoning or can be chemically diffused as well. If you see other clear unheated elements then most probably it is. Wish you the best of luck with your gemstone analysis. Best Regards, Tarun Gupta, GIA GG

With 10x or 14x eye glass can we get judgement?(about treatments)
@ThaiNativeGems4 жыл бұрын
Hi Pravin, With practice, yes 10x or 14x eye-glass can assist in checking about treatments. The main thing is to see the indicators or clues. Regards, Tarun Gupta, GIA GG

Bro which one is good heated or non heated???
@ThaiNativeGems4 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately, not a simple answer. If you looking only based on treatments than non heated will sell in premium to heated as they are more rare. However, we have to also see five other factors like carat weight, color, clarity, cut grade, and sapphire origin to determine what is better or more premium sapphire. This is what I call 4Cs plus OT. Regards, Tarun Gupta, GIA GG

Good Aren't both natural? 🤔😇😦 Y it heat? 🤔
@ThaiNativeGems3 жыл бұрын
Yes both are natural, but one has been heat treated while other is not alter in anyway. The reason why gems are treated with heat as the natural color wasn't attractive and the heat treatment helps enhances it. For more information regarding sapphire treatments I recommend for you to read our blog post: www.buygemstone.info/2013/11/07/blue-sapphire-buying-treatment-guide-how-to-buy-and-tell-the-difference-between-natural-unheated-heated-lattice-diffusion-treatment-and-brand-new-glass-filled-sa/ Best Regards, Tarun Gupta, GIA GG

@@ThaiNativeGems The guys out here in Afghanistan are saying they are unheated African rubies but I cannot find any 60 degree crossing needles in them. But the specific gravity seems to be correct and not heavy which you would expect with glass filled. I can find no bubbles.

heated or unheated which one will be much more valuable?
@shanthgamage72 жыл бұрын
Now days heat treatment is a common practice to improve the clarity and enhance the color of Sapphire.a stone value doesn't depend on treatment. If a stone has right color luster ,Clarity which effectives for treatments.
@shanthgamage711 ай бұрын
It's depond on colour , lustre and clarity of stone's. Just beacuse unheated stone doesn't have proper colour and beauty which doesn't value in the market .
