Thames Then & Now: 150 Years in the Making. The Thames Goldfield was proclaimed 30th July 1867 and the Goldfield opened 1st August 1867. The town is currently celebrating 150 years; this slideshow looks at the town past and present - from Tararu to Parawai in the south. Stop for awhile and see the town through the eyes of our early goldfield settlers.

Great work and thanks for this, I'll share with family as my great great grandfather had 5 gold claims here and is buried on the hill. He came from America to chase the gold.
