From Kent and Essex to the Youngs brewery , still done by barge into the late 60’s. Zero pollution and no traffic. Two men per barge or sometimes a wife and kids. The smell of the mash so strong on a return trip the dockers on the aisle of grain knew you were coming before they could see you wind permitting. Progress 🤦🏻‍♂️
