Thameslink Services in the City of London

Today we are in Central London along the Thameslink line.
Thameslink operates a north-south railway network through London, connecting Luton and Gatwick Airports with major stations in London, such as St. Pancras International, Farringdon, Blackfriars, and London Bridge. The line is quite unusual, in that it actually crosses the city of London instead of terminating at one of the terminals.
The film begins at St. Pancras International station, where the Thameslink platforms only recently opened in 2007. We then move to Farringdon, where there is a direct interchange between Thameslink and the London Underground Circle, Hammersmith & City and Metropolitan lines. The final part of the film shows City Thameslink station.

377s are far better, more comfortable suspension and seats, 387s have rock solid seats which are always known to break your back after an hour long journey and have an extremely bouncy suspension

Really great video! One interesting point you forgot to say: at Farringdon (for southbound trains) and at City Thameslink (for northbound trains) trains change from DC third rail to AC overhead lines and viceversa, etc.

nice video and for the Thameslink it's operated like the Metro-North New Haven line due to the fact it has overhead lines and third rail and for the class 319 & 387 soon 700 trains their equivalents are the Metro North M2, M4, M6 & M8 since they can operate off overhead lines( 12.5kv 60hz-25kv 60hz for M8, but 25 kv 50 hz for class 319, 387,& 700 trains) & 750 v dc third rail for both trains

Victor Fest if you want it's 🇺🇸 equivalent then the Metro North New Haven Line is for you because it involves 750v dc third rail (🇬🇧 London Top Contact & 🇺🇸 New Haven Line Penn station access but 🇺🇸 Bottom Contact Metro North New Haven Line) to overhead wires 12.5kv 60 hz which is bit stronger than the 25kv 60hz used on Thameslink Farringdon-Bedford & Cambridge sections.

A lot of units still have the old operators livery on them, who were First Capital Connect. Thameslink have repainted some into their new White livery, but some are still in the old First livery. Also, there are also some in Southern livery as they were transferred from Southern to Thameslink to increase capacity on the Thameslink line
