Victor Banerjee's English is superb. He was fantastic in the role of Aziz. As an Australian, it's wonderful to see Judy Davis in this movie (who is also Australian). As for Peggy Ashcroft, she was brilliant, as always. Peggy loved India, and she was in 'The Jewel in the Crown', as well as 'Hullabaloo over Georgie and Bonnie's Pictures' (both of which were filmed in India).

Having a good command on any foreign language is ofcourse a talent nobody can deny it. In victor banerjee’s case it’s okay n his blood. His mom was a British and he is highly educated as well. Better not to Bragg about being Indian and boycott English since if we want to go for higher studies English is ma Tory. No science or computer programming languages got invented in Indian languages so better stop bragging. Action speaks louder than words. If speaking only native language is a matter of pride then Indians should first try to invent science in Hindi and then shout

Most of the cinema actors in 1970s/80s were school drop outs but to stereotype all South Indians speaking five different languages having the same accent is too far fetched.
