Hello again! Our cover of Thank God It's Christmas had Mat pooing his pants at the prospect of taking on a song originally sung by one of the greatest vocalists ever to walk the Earth.
Luckily this one was written by Brian May, so the chances are Freddie didn't fully give it his all... which means there's a slim chance we'll get away with it.
In all seriousness though, we love this song and we loved every minute of working on this arrangement. The acoustic guitar's in an open tuning, which frankly sounds awesome.

Agree on both the open tuning and the daunting prospect of following in Freddie's footsteps, still haven't had the nerve to myself. You'd nothing to worry about though, all of it sounds great and this year especially this song is maybe more apt than ever.

Oh man it's such a joy to be the first glimpse of a new song - this is a classic Queen track and I think it was Brian May who wrote it. It's the first instance of Mat trying to gigure out how open tunings work... so it holds a special place in our hearts. It also taught us a valuable lesson: If you want to look important, film yourself in a big, cavernous space... but don't expect to be warm...

@@TheDistanceDuo As long as I have my new 12 string to play I’m having a great time! Even did an improv a couple days ago people are as much fun watching as I did doing it ! It’s called Sanity Is Overrated!! If you need a good laugh go look lol 😂 🎄❤️
