Erik Bobier - I’ve been watching him through junior as well. Unfortunately in his last Boston game, the referees swallowed their whistles (I think they were halfway down their intestines by that time) so Naz has had enough of the abuse. It was wrong to cross check...instead he should have dropped his stick and just jumped him. A total mugging is ok in the NHL. He would have gotten off a lot easier. But it’s easy sitting in our armchair watching the games. He was in the heat of the battle. Who knows what any of us would have done in his shoes. Good luck in the Rockies, Naz.

Watching this 3 months after it posted. I’m an Avs fan and was looking to learn more about Naz. Everything I’ve heard and read he sounds like something that the Avs have needed for some time now. I mean we got a couple of guys that are really good players and also rough guys that can play that tough hockey. I loved having Ian Cole and Big Z out there protecting our superstars. I think Naz is gonna bring a lot to not only the ice but to the locker room and the community here in Denver. I will miss Tyson Barrie but he did become expendable. I won’t miss him making a lot of rookie mistakes while no longer being a rookie. I will really miss Kerfoot but it seemed like he never really got into his groove here in Denver. That said Leafs fans and players, please take good care of those guys because they are good guys and good hockey players. 2009 was when I got back into hockey.. Kadri was really supposed to be the chosen one. In 2012, everyone thought he would be the next Leaf captain playing first line minutes. When he was invited onto coach’s corner, it was so special. It’s so strange that this day never actually came, and he end up staying behind Bozak and or Matthews for his whole leaf career. I feel like kadri’s prime was somewhat wasted.. he could score 32 playing 2C minutes. I’m going to miss his edge and skill. But I agree with Dangle; this was a necessary trade for the Leafs.

Avs fans get attached to our players extremely easily, so I’m sure Naz will become a fan favorite quickly. That being said, it hurts to see kerfy go, super fun, funny guy that has some fantastic playmaking abilities, just needs to shoot more... and try and avoid getting hit. What really hurts is barrie leaving. He has been fantastic for us. I can’t tell you a fan of the Avs that doesn’t love him with their heart and soul, and the players probably feel the same way. You guys in Toronto will absolutely love him. This is a great trade for both teams, and I’m excited for next season, but having players you have grown to love be traded, it’s always hard. Tbh actually cried a little while writing this.

I will miss Barrie and Kerfoot but I’m excited for Nazem to play here in Denver. Don’t worry, we’ll take care of him in Colorado. Let’s just get him used to the altitude and get used to always coming back and winning games cause that’s how it is here
