Jordan fabrics is a great place to learn how to quilt she has a number of quilts that she has designed and easy to follow she's a real good teacher. My favorite all time pattern is the log cabin.

The first time I started sewing in 2018, I really wanted to make a quilt. Without any knowledge of quilting or sewing I ended up making a jelly roll quilt and rag quilt, both of which came out beautifully! Only by watching KZbin tutorials… you can do anything you put your mind to Jo, really looking forward to your finished quilt! Wishing you both a happy new year🎉

Love the new bag. The Teloujay was most probably the first more intermediate bag I made. Thank you for the encouragement and good design. Adam, if you think you're going to see less fabric on that shelf, don't get your hopes up, quilters are notoriously stash hoarders of fabric. I'm a quilter who moved to bag making. I learnt a lot of techniques from KZbin, Donna Jordan from Jordan fabrics. Missouri star quilting. Shabby fabrics is another good one. I found the earlier Missouri star tutorials are more helpful with techniques, where the later ones are more showing new patterns. I found that I binge watched them, it seemed to help the information to settle in better. Looks like an exciting year for you both. I'm looking forward to seeing your new pattern designs.

Find a supportive online quilting group! I took my first quilt class 30 years ago and the teacher said that the radiant star might not be a good first quilt. I said if it involved a sewing machine, , that I could handle it. I have made dozens of quilts since. Sara at Sew Sweetness here in the states, makes patterns for bags for her company and she makes a variety of quilts as well.

Love the next makers box project. I looked at your quilted pillow project! Wow, you certainly picked a complex pattern. My tip - sewing straight, scant quarter inch seams will be your best skill with this project. Also, throw in copious amounts of patience and steady as she goes! Can't wait to see your progress videos.

I have made quilts for years, and have never followed a pattern. I just make them up as I go along! When I first started I didn't know that curves were meant to be difficult and sewed a quilt with multiple curves, which I cut freehand, and it turned out so lovely. My advice for someone who is interested in quilting is to trust yourself, know what you do and don't like sewing, and just go for it. I bet your quilt is going to be beautiful.

I would love a new video for the Vordenza crossbody... i have the pattern but never made it yet as i get confused with the pocket part on the tutorial. I was just about to message about the shop opening as i am desperate for wide mouth sliders Rectangle D rings rivets.and zip pulls...🤩🤩 I will be eagerly waiting for my news letter to purchase those and some sale price rainbow hard ware... I did bagmaking first and then went to do a bit of quilting. I have done some quilts on the embroidery maching, which makes things much easier, but its always worth trying new things. If you don't try it out, you will never know if you like it or not. I would never put anyone off trying anything. 😀

Thank you for such a great channel, patterns and shop, you are my go to for bag making, and if I see other ways of doing things, I think I’m sure Jo wouldn’t do that and it would look much better her way! Looking forward to the smaller crossbody pattern after Christmas. I would buy a hardware kit for it but not a make box as I have way too much stash already! Happy holidays ! Whatever you have to do, to keep making is fine with me. I am a quilter and still quilting but started bag making. I love a lot of quilters but I’ve recently bought a pattern from Lo and Behold stitchery called “Home coming”. There patterns are beautifully written. Easy to follow. The quilt turned out amazing. I’ve made a lot of my own designs for baby quilts with embroidery. Follow Angela “Quilting is my therapy”. She does a lot of domestic machine quilting tutorials. I have a long arm and I follow Natalie Bonner and I’ve bought her quilter rulers. Angela also does long arm quilting.

I'm looking forward to seeing all that you planned for 2023! I would be definitely interested in another Maker's Box, love the clutch you designed. And I am especially interested in the bag Adam has in stock as I've been looking for a nice pattern for a man's bag for a long time. As for quilts, I also find them wonderful, still need to work on keeping my seam allowances even, maybe one day I will get there :) I like to watch Donna from Jordan Fabrics sew her quilts, she makes it look simple and doable for beginners like me too. Yes to the clutch makers box! I am a quilter but when I saw your video on the Vordenza, I was hooked. I like making bags because I can finish them a lot faster than a quilt.
