I barely knew the name Kevin Harvick until the day he was called to fill the biggest seat in nascar. When he set in that number 3/29 car and won his first race I knew he was special. He picked up pieces that nobody else could pick up. This man is a TRUE legend and I thank him for doing what he has done in this sport.

You'll be missed Kevin! Interesting facts about Kevin's first and last cup race. Rockingham 2001 Busch race The #00 won and Kevin finished 2nd in the #2 Chevy Phoenix Xfinity 2023 The #00 won the race and Creed finished p2 in the #2 Chevy Atlanta 2001 The 24 was on the pole and the 1 of Steve Park won the race Phoenix 2023 The 24 car is on the pole and Ross in the 1 car wins Kevin won in his 3rd start, 4th race of the year in the 29 car. He started 5th and won the race 4/29/51 Dale's birthdate and at Phoenix he started 3rd and finished 7th. Dale's a 7 time Winston cup champion. It truly came full circle in Kevin's career.

Thanks Kevin. I've been a fan of yours since 2000 when you were in the xfinity series. They should of let you have the GM Goodwrench Car and the AC DELCO Car for one more race this year. You weren't the best of all-time but you are and will always be my Favorite Driver of all-time. I'll be pulling for Josh Berry. Just like I rooted for you when you replaced Dale. Thanks Kevin, you're the man. Have a Happy Retirement and a good time in the Booth.

Can still remember crying on the couch when they announced Dale passed away ... fast forward 22 years and i cried on that same couch watching him race 1 last time . This past year just FLEW by and still feels surreal that his career has come to an end . When he took the lead at Phoenix i honestly thought he might walk it off with 1 last win but man it was just poetic to see him out front 1 last time at a track where it felt so familiar .

It hurts to see one of the guys I grew up watching, from the time I was small, hang up the gloves and helmet. At times, I cheered him, pulled for him. And others... Jeer and rooted against him. But what I always had for that man, was a huge truckload of respect. My heart feels heavy seeing him walk away. And while he is still in the broadcast booth, still a major part of this sport. It just won't be the same without him. I doubt Kevin will see this, maybe someone at SHR will... But I want to thank you, Kevin. For all the awesome memories, close calls, victories and good times. Thank you for making the sport I love so much, and have from the time I was a little boy, so much better for being a part of it. You were tossed into the frying pan during a tumultuous time in our sport. And instead of melting under the heat, it only forged you to be stronger. You took up that mantle, and you ran with it. No, you didn't handle that car, or any car like Dale Earnhardt. You did things your way. You never buckled for anyone else. You dug your heels in and showed us what kind of driver- no, what kind of man you were. And as many times as my favorite driver was on the receiving end of that fiery temper or aggressive driving... I look back in awe of everything you did. Even if at the time, I wasn't too happy (hah) I can say looking back you have had a career most can never have and one you should be proud of. So cheers to you, Happy, the Closer, Mr "Where did he come from?!", and may your years in the booth and working behind the scenes be filled with just as much joy and success as your racing career! #4EVER!

I was an Earnhardt fan at 11 years old. He was my first hero. When Kevin stepped in after Dale died, I was 27 and Kevin was my guy. I’m 48 now. When I watched Kevin step out of that car on Sunday, the tears started coming. That’s nearly a 40 year journey for me with one guy to tune in for every race. NASCAR is going to be different for me next year. For the first time in almost 40 years, I don’t have a favorite to pull for.

With Kevin Harvick retiring, consider the breadth of his career. It's entirely possible that he could wind up having raced in the Daytona 500 against drivers that raced in as many as 75 or more consecutive Daytona 500s (that number's already 55), as his first start in the Daytona 500 was the last for Dave Marcis, who first drove in that race all the way back in 1968, and he raced against drivers that began in the late 1970s that were still competitive when he first competed in what was then the Winston Cup Series, and in his final season in the Cup Series, raced against drivers like Ty Gibbs, Chandler Smith, Riley Herbst, Carson Hocevar, and Zane Smith, who could conceivably be racing 20-25 years from now. And if that's not enough, although they never shared the track together in the same race, he actually began his NASCAR career in the Truck Series when the legendary A.J. Foyt was driving his final races, also in the Truck Series (Foyt ran one Truck Series race in 1995 and two in '96, while Harvick also made one Truck Series start in '95 and made four in '96, but the two were never in the same race together).

I’m a Kyle Busch guy and oh boy did I “hate” you but I knew as soon as you announced your retirement that I wasn’t ready for you to hang it up. We’ve had so many great drivers and personalities step away over the last several years. Guys with shoes impossible to fill and you’re just the latest but in terms of competition I think you’re leaving the biggest void yet. Can’t wait to have you in the FOX booth and look forward to watching your kid whip ass in the future🤘

And thus, the last of the old-school drivers has stepped out of the car for the last time. Looking back, he did a hellofa job replacing a legend AND doing his own thing. His greatest feats: Appears in Rockingham a nervous wreck, yet still showed that he had merit (Jeff Gordon won the pole, but Steve Park would win the race that day) Would win Atlanta on only his *3rd* start, holding off Jeff Gordon for the win by 0.006 seconds, staring the healing process for the sport after losing an icon 3 races prior. The greatest moment, bar none. Wins at Indy after a VERY tumoltuous 2 seasons, starting to come into his own as a driver Earned a Daytona 500 win, and nickname along with it: The Closer Winning Talladega in a style not seen since 2000. And his last win was the Daytona 500 3 years prior Edges out Jimmie Johnson for the win at California Superspeedway (before reconfiguration) Finally getting a championship in 2014 with a team that was rebuilt from that season up. This also gets him into the club where Daytona 500 winners also win a championship Curbstomped an entire field for an entire regular season of racing, starting with the track that launched him into stardom: Atlanta Motor Speedway Getting a race event named after him (The 4EVER 400) in his final season Is in the Top 75 NASCAR drivers of all time, presented by no other people than his own son and daughter He is a man, a myth, a legend of a driver who will now be missed by all, especially those of us that got into NASCAR in the 2000s, seeing that young upstarting rookie in a legend's car make a name for himself and hold up his predecessor's legacy. It's been a joy watching your career, and now, may your retirement be filled with wonders, both on and off track!!!!! #4EVER29
